Inner Stuff
Likes:
- Bram Stoker
- Muffins
- Romantic Comedies
- Stanley Kubrick
Dislikes:
- Edward Cullen
- M. Night Shyamalan
- Wolfens
- Garlic
Strengths:
- He can manipulate the wills of weaker humans, but only after they have made eye contact. This will have no effect on humans of strong will and conviction or are just too stupid or humans who have transcended the boundaries of life and death and have become the undead.
- He can levitate his body, allowing him to seemingly walk on air and zip through the sky.
- His saliva has potent healing capabilities, but alas can not heal fatal wounds.
- He can manipulate his own blood (think Deadman Wonderland) for a variety of uses including blood bullets, razor sharp blood blades, hardened blood shields, and stalking blood beasts. He can only manipulate his blood within a certain range of 20 feet. He can only utilize this power in his Fangire form.
Weaknesses:
- Like any Fangire, Silas has a weakness to sunlight. Unlike other Fangires, direct sunlight for too long will reduce him to ashes.
- Due to a witch's curse, he is unable to leave the town of Ravencroft nor to enter any privately owned building without permission from an occupant. This curse is temporarily lifted each 31st of October only to resume when the clock strikes midnight. If he not within the city limits by then he will turn into a statue.
- Unlike other fangires who absorb life energy using these floating fang things, Silas has to actually physically drink the blood of a living thing to survive. Those fangs aren't just for show! If he doesn't get some fresh blood in him every three days he'll wither away.
- Objects or places with any theistic significance can do varying physical damage to him.
Goal(s):
- Protect the town of Ravencroft
Habits/ Quirks:
- Will often greet his visitors by rising from a coffin with his hands crossed over his chest.
Relationships:
Overview: Silas might seem scary at first, but he's actually a pretty cool guy if not extremely cheesy. Despite no longer being human and being older than dirt, he cares deeply for the town of Ravencroft and its peoples and would rather for it to continue not getting taken over monsters. The one thing he fears is losing control again and becoming the monster he once was. Though the Fangire race has caused humanity much sorrow over the centuries, Silas strangely thinks of every single of them as his children and it pains him when he forced to fight them.

History
Silas' past is something he'd rather forget. His tale of misery and woe began way way way back in the fourteenth century. He was born a filthy farmboy to a poor family. He worked all day in the fields alongside his brothers, father, and uncle. Silas had never left the farm, he had no need. His entire world was those six acres of land. His father, his brothers, and his uncles became sick, one after the other. He was the only one still working to feed everybody.
That is until Silas caught the same sickness...It took the lives of his family. Only he and his younger sister remained. They weren't the only ones affected by such a travesty. The townspeople were calling it "the Black Death," others called it the "End of Days." Silas kept on working, he was the only who could take care of his sister. Only him..
She died not soon after. Soon it would be Silas' turn. He accepted it rather quickly - after all he would be with his family again. He was out in the fields when he was blinded by a light in the sky. He awoke the next morning in his small yet empty home, feeling not only better but almost inhuman. He didn't know how to describe, he was just different.
He tended his farm all by himself for the next one hundred years. He didn't think anything about it. It didn't seem that long to him. It was not until bandits came and burned down his house that he was forced to leave. Using these powers that had become quite commonplace to him, he killed the bandits without hardly breaking a sweat.
On the year of 1451, the man who would later become Silas met a man named Vlad III, the Prince of Wallachia, during his exile after losing his throne. Silas thought little as he killed the man and took his place using another of his powers (though he would later lose this one to an unforeseen incident). He silenced anyone that suspected that he was the real Vlad and eventually "retook" the kingdom of Wallachia.
Much that followed can be read in the scripted words of historians. Vlad the Impaler was every bit the cruel man as described. Silas had gone from a simple farm boy to a monster, but he did not care. He just wanted to make the world bleed. It wasn't until a few decades later that he realized the error of his ways and saw the monster that he had become. The mysterious event that turned him into a monster had robbed him of his humanity. It wasn't until that he peered into a mystical mirror said to originate from ancient Babylonia that his soul was returned from him.
Silas had his own assassination planned within a fortnight. The Impaler was no more and the nameless man was once again on the road again. Looking into that mirror and regaining his soul had come at a terrible price, he could no longer walk in the sunlight. He was about to exit the cave that he been hiding out in when the light of morning peeked in through and burned him. The pain was agonizing and since that day the cold, loneliness of bitter night was his only companion.
Silas was a broken shell of a man. He lived in the sewers of Paris for the next century on rats for he needed blood of a living creature to sustain himself. He had always needed blood to survive, ever since that faithful day. When he lived on his farm, he would travel to a nearby village and feast on anyone he happened to meet on the way. He didn't leave survivors back then.
It was there in the dark sewers that he met a young girl. She was not afraid of him, at least not a first. She often brought him food and news of the outside world. He watched her grown into a beautiful woman. He grew to love her a lot more than he ever should have. He left the sewer one fateful night in search of her when she was late for her daily visit. He searched all over the city..until he found body devoid of any life.
It wasn't hard to find the people responsible. They made themselves known to him right away. They called themselves Fangires and they were like him yet so different. They had come to Paris seeking out, convinced that he was origin of their monstrosity. Some wished to kill him, others thank him. Silas fought them off, but their combined might was enough to make him flee.
He did not know when they started to spring up, but no matter what country he escaped too - there they were. From the isle of Britain to the vast Chinese nation. That was when Silas had an idea to escape to a place he was sure they had not yet invested - the new world.
He hid aboard a British ship inbound for the colonies and in no time flat he had established his own little village in the state that would later be known as Maine. He named the village after the new name he gave himself - Ravencroft. The harvest was plenty and even his villagers quickly came to accept his rather eccentric nature such as his refusal to go outside during a sunny dear in fear of "skin disease." The villagers were just happy they had such a benevolent "Count" watching over them.
The Count was happy for the first time in a very long time. But of course that could not last, fate would not let it. Creatures of dark intent began to plague the village. Silas did his best to keep them at bay, but his best was not good enough for the villagers. They turned on him and Silas was forced to face against an angry mob and prevent them from burning his manor to the ground.
The Count "perished" that, his death faked and the villagers angers subdued for the moment. The Manor was condemned, the villagers keeping their distance in fear of any curses. Rumors spread throughout the generations and now to this day the founder of Ravencroft is looked back as a vain and cruel monster who would lower poor defenseless townsfolk into his Manor in order to feast upon their blood after brutally torturing them for his own personal pleasure.
Silas confined himself to the Manor. He could no longer leave the ever growing town of Ravencroft thanks in part to the curse of a witch whose advances he had spurned in the past. He found himself bored being all alone in his giant Manor, it wasn't until the mid 1950s did he discover the wonderful world of Cinema.
