All she could originally think of was that her brother would say she was nuts. She had always been impulsive but she very much doubted he'd approve of allowing alien minds to dig around inside her head.
But once the connection was made it was hard to keep track of Cécile Simard. She saw the world through Adam Jonas' eyes. In an instant, although it felt so much longer to her, she saw everything he had seen, experienced everything had experienced. She felt his joy and his suffering, his very essence, his very state of being.
And then voices..She tried to make sense of what they were, what they were saying.

Adam broke the connection and stumbled back, blinking several times. Though he was unaware of them, tears rolled down his cheeks. "How was that?"

It had taken her a moment to sort through the noise of voices. But she had been able to distinguish them, focus on one at a time. She had heard some understood and then suddenly...She was cut off.
She experienced vertigo as she realized that she was back. Well...Technically she had never left but when the connection was going on it had felt like she had abandoned her body, like she was somewhere else entirely.
When he asked how it was she opened her mouth to speak, not sure what to say. She noticed he was crying. She was about to ask what was wrong when she realized she was crying too.
She moved closer and rested a hand on his cheek. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize how much you had seen, how much you had suffered through."
She took a breath. "It was...Wow...I can't begin to explain! Amazing! I...Wow...I can't quite put it into words but I...I understood it. At the end I was able to separate the voices and focus on one at a time and just...Wow!"

"You saw everything I've experienced in my 5000 years of existence." Adam said, wiping away his tears. "All the places I've been, the knowledge I've learned and the secrets I've kept. And I saw everything you've experienced. I should be apologising to you, really."
"You were able to what?" he asked. "You were able to sort through the entire Zeon consciousness? You might have some psychic potential after..." A loud bleeping from a console drew his attention. He dashed over to it and brought up a feed of the Logi happening upon a shiny silver capsule. "It's found the ship."

"The Logi and everything definitely makes a lot more sense now," she admitted when he explained that she had seen and experienced everything in his 5,000 years of existence. 5,000 years?! Wow that was a long time! She mentally chuckled, well a long time by human standards.
She knew there would be a trade off for linking minds. Now he knew just how messed up she was, just how much she wanted to die but that she wouldn't and couldn't commit suicide. She couldn't let Dad go through that again. Adrian had been hard enough. And there were people she needed to protect.
Cécile simply smiled. "I don't know about psychic potential or the like but it's like I told you, I'm really good with languages," she said proudly.
"Let's move out then!" she said animatedly. At least she didn't feel so lost after experiencing the guy's past. Now she too knew what the 'Silver Turk' was.
"So what is it like?" she asked. "Speaking verbally like this after you've linked minds?" It was slightly dizzying to Cécile. Right now this form of communication just seemed so unbearably slow. And you couldn't perfectly sort out the emotions behind the words. You had to guess much more. It was slightly frustrating.

"It's different." Adam said. "I've got the hang of it, but it's quite disconcerting." He hit another button and beamed them both down to the middle of the Black Forest, to find the stationary ship, but no Logi.

It was weird being beamed down. Technically this was Cécile's first time experiencing something like this. But the sensation was really familiar as she had 'felt' Adam doing it many times before. So it was something both old and new.
Cécile began to wonder if there wasn't some sort of psychic link to her ability to pick up languages. She had always learned them 'scarily quickly' according to her teachers. She just sort of picked them up without too much effort. And it was easier when she was surrounded by people who spoke it as their native tongue. And she would actually think in the language as she was speaking it. She wasn't constantly converting everything in her head back to French. And switching the languages...It was seamless, effortless. She had witnessed many people confusing words when they went back and forth between languages but that had simply never been a problem for her.
She had never given it too much thought before but now she wondered. Was her language skill really a sign of psychic potential? And then she could feel stirrings of her partner's emotions and she could sometimes see images in her head projected by her partner. Maybe she did have some psychic potential after all.
Cécile nodded. "Linking minds certainly kicks the crap out of German," she said lightly. "And I feel like I should apologize for not having better experiences to show you." All of those had pretty much vanished after she was abducted at 15. She knew it was against the rules to go anywhere with her mother without supervision. Her mother had played on her emotions and played on her love for bending the rules, convincing Cécile to come have dinner and keep it a secret between the two of them. Then everything went to hell. She was still picking up the pieces.

"It's fine." Adam said, running his hand along the side of the ship. "The Logi's inside, and..." he stopped. "He's activated the secondary transmitter."

"Oh shit!" It was weird. She didn't even need to ask what that meant. She chuckled. "I can see why linking minds would cause some people to have an existential crisis. Everything feels different."

"Just a little bit, yeah." Adam nodded, leaning against the ship. "I'm sorry. I'm very sorry."

"What are you sorry for?" Cécile asked confused. Yes, normal speech would definitely take some getting used to again. She went from being able to read Adam's memories, emotions, and essence to just relying on his words and facial expressions. Technically that wasn't even his real face. This was just an avatar he was...was borrowing the right term? Language was much less specific than she'd like.
"It'll be okay. Even if they transmitted the location, we can still deal. I mean we already thought they'd found us. Now we've just confirmed it." Of course that would have been easier to say and believe before she'd seen his memories. Nasty race. It would be tricky. But humans were capable and adaptable. She wasn't willing to call the situation a lost cause yet.

"The Logi are a massive army with conquest in mind. You've seen them. You know what they're like." Adam said, rubbing his face. "Now they're coming for Earth." He stood straight. "Come here. I need access to your mind again."

Cécile merely nodded. She had seen them. She did know how terrible they were. But giving into hopelessness and despair would not help the situation. She needed to be the confident and assuring force at the moment.
Cécile moved back towards Adam without hesitation. Honestly she was slightly scared of what he would show her;but, she had already linked minds of her own free will. It was her obligation to know. And more than that...She wanted to connect. She had just begun to piece together what some of those voices were, what they meant. She wanted another crack at it. This...This really was an incredible language opportunity.

Once more, Adam closed his eyes and joined their minds. This time, however, he didn't pull Cécile into his mind. Instead he went into hers.
"You've seen my memories. You know everything I know." he said. "I know secrets that I can share with no-one else. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to erase a part of your memory."

Cécile had wondered if he'd try something like this. They were his secrets, not hers. She understood why he felt the need for it; but, she had always liked breaking the rules, learning things she wasn't supposed to know. Secrets. Having to them have, not to share. But this was different.
"I can help you. You've seen my mind. You know I have no intention of telling anyone. Not like anyone would believe me in the first place. If they're coming, you could use someone who understands the situation like you do. I want to help. You know that's my motive. I just want to help as many people as possible before I die. Please don't do this."
