"My OOO will kill him before he crosses," she told Ankh.

Ankh grinned back at Nathan before smirking. "It's a king's job to protect his people. I'll see to it that Nathan crosses. After all, that's what it means to be a benefactor."

"He's not crossing right now," she told him.

"But time isn't exactly of the essence to us, sister dear. We can wait. I agree that he won't cross today but I will instruct him and help him mature until he can. Really, I feel sorry for your 000. You see her only as she is now. You have no prospect for her future. A pity. With such a poor king to lead her she has no choice but to eventually lose."

"And if yours dies on this day? Then what?"

"Oh he won't," Ankh said confidently. "I chose him. He's special, for a human at least. And I will do whatever is necessary to keep him alive so he can cross. Tell me dear sister, what are you willing to do for your 000? How can a king expect people to follow if he's not willing to lead? A king might be powerful. But a king cannot win the game alone."

"If need be, I will step in and help her crush your man," she said, "And crush you as well, should you intervene."

While the two Greeeds were yammering, Jessica aimed another stream of water down at Nathan, pounding him with more and more. She leaped down next to him after a moment, slowly approaching.

"You're weaker than me," she told Ankh.
Nathan rose, panting. He drew in a deep breath and focused. Peacock wings flew out behind him, each one tipped with a projectile, like a Medal. He thrust his arm forward with a shout, unleashing the rain of blasts for Jessica.

"Physically, absolutely, dear sister. But we both know that's not where my real strength lies," he said, tapping his head. He would acknowledge that he wasn't the strongest Greeed but that meant little. He was the best Greeed, the most intelligent, clever, and competent. His strategies and creative thinking would ensure victory.
Ankh's eyes widened in awe as Nathan finally revealed his peacock wings. Such beauty and grace.

"My elemental powers are leaps and bounds ahead of yours," Mezool stated, "And as we've discussed, water beats fire."

Ankh rolled his eyes. "So short sighted. Nothing is that simple."
