She laughed. "Very," she said simply. "And I'd be happy to prove that to you any time." She didn't expect him to believe her but she was a skilled thief. She was quick witted and had very fast reflexes. She bet she could steal anything he tried to protect.

"I might have to take you up on that," he told her.

"Tell me what you want me to steal and how long you want to prepare. I'll be able to take it," she promised him.
Well she supposed the eyes were about as good as she could make them. She's just need to work on his mouth and then she'd be done. A playful smirk. How hard could that be? To get it to be the right one...Probably really hard.

"Well, we'll see," he told her. He smiled, "How about my heart?" He wasn't being serious, he just wanted to see her reaction.

"I don't really understand people all that well. So that might be a tough one." Not like she'd really tried to seriously understand anyone in a while.

He just laughed and continued to paint.

"Do you want me to understand you?" she teased, drawing and erasing and drawing some more. Yeah...This expression was going to be really hard.

"Do you really not get it?" he asked as he kept painting.

"Not get this expression or not get you?" she asked, erasing the lines of Hermes' mouth yet again. No where near good enough. Nothing like the image in her head.

"Expression," he said.

"It's the gap between ideal and reality. It was always my issue with art. Sometimes I'd have this very clear idea of what I wanted but I could never put it on paper. So mentally I get it. Artistically...I suppose not."

"How don't you get it artistically?"

That was a much more difficult question than it sounded. She felt like she didn't know exactly what she didn't know.
"I'm not sure. I just know what I want it to look like in my head and I can't quite get the pen and paper to cooperate with my vision." She looked over to see how Jack's work was coming along. She was sure it was one billion times better than her drawing. "Why are you surprised I'm having trouble? I wasn't being modest when I told you I wasn't very good."
And Hermes was special. If she was going to attempt drawing him she at least wanted to make sure she captured his essence even if the image itself was a far cry from perfection.

"I was actually asking you about not getting what I said," he told her.

"People are complicated. I really don't understand them. Hmm...No, maybe that's not quite right. Everyone tells me I have trust issues and that I don't try to understand them." She really resented the term 'trust issues'. Issues implied a problem. Charlotte thought it was healthy to be skeptical of people.
"Still, I speak plainly and most people don't. So if I don't get it please explain it to me."
