Sayuri continued to follow and stay back, at the back of her mind thinking of how she could help Kiriha and what she knew about him. Her thoughts also flitted back to her last battle. She couldn't help but think of her mistakes and how she could have done better. Her next battle would have less mistakes! Warriors strove to improve every time!

Kiriha saw Hiro off and then left, rubbing his eyes. He had some time now, so he was just going to go and sit in the break room and wait for Hiro's surgery to be finished. He wanted to just wait and see, he wanted to see his friend alive.
He went into the break room and sat on the couch with a sigh.

She saw Kiriha go into the break room. She'd try the door and see if it was left unlocked. If it was unlocked she'd step inside. If not she'd continue her waiting game.

It was indeed unlocked. He didn't need to lock it.

Sayuri walked inside and saw that Kiriha seemed tired. She sat on the couch next to him and placed the bento in front of him. "In case you're hungry," she offered. She wasn't sure if he would be. He seemed...upset?
"Are you okay?" she asked, not expecting a truthful answer.

"The man was dead from the start, there was nothing that was going to be able to be done," he said, "I just want to see to it that Hiro is ok, and then I can go. I need to make sure. It's routine, it's simple, but...I want to make sure he's ok."

"I'm sorry about the man," she said delicately. She nodded her head in understanding. "You really care about Hiro, don't you?" she asked gently.

"He's a good man," he said, "I'm fond of him. He's one of the few patients I can call a friend."

Sayuri smiled. "I'm glad you have someone you're close to." She wondered what it was like to have friends. She was much too busy with her warrior life for such things. But it was nice that Kiriha had made time for at least one friend.
"I'll wait with you and make sure he's okay," she said warmly. "Can you tell me a little about Hiro?" she asked.

"He works in construction," Kiriha told her, "He has a wife, a young son. They can't make it here often, though. I spend most of the time I have with him, and just talk about anything. He likes to talk about his family. He's...he's an incredibly friendly man. I walked in one day to just check on him, and he started talking, and...he drew me in, and I started talking as well...and we just became friends so easily."

"He sounds like a wonderful person," she said sincerely.

"He is," he said, leaning forward and rubbing his eyes. "I should get some rest." There were beds in the next room, so doctors on call could sleep when needed.

"You do look really tired," she admitted. "I'll wake you up if someone comes to get you about Hiro," she promised.

He held up his pager, "I have this," he said.

She nodded. "Then you're good to go. I'll wait here as well. I want to make sure Hiro's okay too."
