"Well your sister did mention you didn't like attending..." She paused, trying to remember the word for it. "Some sort of event or something your father makes you go to. Maybe I can accompany you and make them more enjoyable." She scrunched up her head, trying to remember the word. It wasn't a ball or party or festival.

"I've never been to one," she admitted. "Is it only something rich people attend?" she asked him. She brightened when he said he'd be happy to have her there. "If it's something you don't like I should be there to support you!" she said eagerly. "Um...Am I supposed to wear some special kind of dress or something?" she asked.
Sayuri was fairly sheltered. She'd never had money and she spent most of her time at home training. Social events puzzled her. She had no idea what was expected.

"These events are for the rich, or for important people," he said, "So yes, you would need a dress. I can help you take care of that sometime. They're...not quite worth going to," he admitted, "But my father wants me to, so I do."

Sayuri squeezed his hand. "Well if you feel you need to go then I'll accompany you and try to make them more worth going to!"
She laughed. "But yes...I would need help with a dress as I have no idea what's expected of me there."

"Any idea how expensive these dresses are?" she asked. She wondered if she could afford one on a Kindergarten teacher's budget. She didn't have expensive tastes so there was little she spent money on aside from home and sword maintenance and groceries. She had a little bit saved up. Hopefully it would be enough. The last thing she wanted to do was embarrass Kiriha.

"Are you sure that's okay?" she asked him uncertainly. She knew he was fairly well off but she still didn't want him to spend too much money on her. But if these social events were only for rich people, she wasn't sure she could afford the dress on her own.

She shrugged. "I've had this hair style forever. It might not be so bad to try something new." She laughed. "It's not like I have to worry about an enemy tugging my hair in combat." No, the suit would protect her nicely from such a thing.
