"I'm amazed Allomerus didn't choose a Spanish partner. The puns would have been hilarious." Roxy commented. Annabelle glared at her.

"Well, he has his reasons, I'd guess. Perhaps he just liked Anna's personality." Nichol shrugged, before placing the Wrecker on the table. "Now, Torin, for the main reason we've come. Roxy and I need holsters. I'd have given her mine, but it burned up last time I transformed."
"Indeed you do. I'll arrange for them at once. Until then, relax and let your Zyudenchi charge." Torin said firmly, before walking away.

"Alrighty then. That's that." Roxy said. "Quite a pleasant individual once you get to know him, I'm sure." "He can be gruff, but he cares." Annabelle said.

"Kinda likes his secrets, though. Took the longest for him to tell me about Parasagun's condition." Nichol sighed. "But I guess it was for the best. If he'd told me, I might've done something really stupid."

"Like I said, he cares. He didn't want you to do anything too stupid, so he didn't tell you." Annabelle said. "Fairly sound logic." Roxy concurred. "We should head back topside." She grabbed her revolver.

Nichol laughed. "Not yet. Not until at least one of each is charged. Don't want to rush into a fire doused in petrol, after all."

"Maybe a half hour at most. Won't be too quick after that last battle." Nichol yawned, before turning and laying on the bench, arms crossed behind his head.

"We have those lounge chairs for a reason..." Annabelle muttered, standing and grabbing one, unfolding it and stretching out. Roxy went to grab one of her own, setting up near Nichol and laying down to wait.

Nichol heard her, and snickered. "I like the stone. Brings me closer to the Spirits."

"The Spirits can get as close as they want to me topside." Annabelle said. "I think the stone's kinda pretty." Roxy said. "It's calming."

"The stone is warm with the Spirits of the past. Legend, history, all within the stone. One need only open their ears, and their heart. The music of the ages plays for the wise."

"How very poignant of you." Annabelle replied. Roxy closed her eyes, trying to see if she could hear it.

The music was inaudibly low. It could not be heard, but only felt, not by the body, but by their very beings. A marvelous tune, comprised of a menagerie of music from across all of time, from the simplest primitive drumbeats to modernized synthetic sounds, all in perfect harmony.

Annabelle would have commented further, but she heard it. She was silent, simply enjoying the melody.
