There were reports coming in of men who had received no training suddenly exhibiting incredible martial arts skill. So, naturally, Artie had shoved Kakeru and Claudia onto a plane to Southern China, where the reports were. "Let's find this thing and get home." Claudia muttered.

A ping involving the martial arts. It's no surprise that Kakeru was sent to handle things. What was, in fact, a surprise is that they still used a plane to get there, in spite of Kakeru's newly found magical abilities. "Damn, these things are slow. Fourteen hours on a plane, ten seconds through a portal."

"Don't you need prior knowledge of where you're going to make a portal to somewhere?" Claudia asked. "I remember Salem saying something about that. And I'm pretty certain you've never been to China."

"...Shut up. Not my fault my old man man made enemies in China." Kakeru huffed, looking over the ring that seemed to now be permanently affixed to his hand.

"So, we track down some absurdly good martial artists, beat them at their own game, take whatever it is that's making them so awesome, and leave." Claudia said. "THEN you can port us back to the Warehouse."

"Pretty much. Artie said it'd be a good time to test something, but, in true Artie fashion, didn't say what it was." Kakeru sighed, giving an exaggerated shrug.

"Of course." Claudia concurred. "Now, if I were a super-duper awesome martial artist, where would I be...?"

Kakeru pulled out his Dialer for a moment, before responded plainly. "Black Mantis Temple, seven miles north of the airport, underground."

"That was shockingly easy." Claudia muttered. "Well, lead the way." She gestured extravagantly that Kakeru should take the lead.

"I doubt they're there. We're going for information gathering. Let's just say that they'll recognize my name." Kakeru chuckled, before starting their excursion.

"So the great Daishori clan has contacts in China. Unsurprising." Claudia said.

"Not exactly." Kakeru spoke sharply, not stopping or turning his head.

Claudia left it at that. Kaki seemed tense.

After a short trek, the two arrived at the entrance to the temple, a pair of ancient ebony doors are tall as a three-story building, and as wide as three buses apiece. "Hmph. Oyaji never told me they liked things this fancy. Goes to show that they're shitty excuses for monks."

Claudia whistled. "Damn. That's certainly a show."
