He hurried back to his bedroom and pulled off another thick blanket and grabbed something from his dresser. He returned and draped the quilt around her as he sat back down.

"Taylor...," he said softly, "I...I regret what happened..."

"No need. It wasn't your fault." Taylor said. "It was that crazy sadistic Zourima that Annabelle killed."

"...you were a virgin." Well, he was too, and it was completely against his beliefs.

"...I said it before, but I don't believe in premarital sex," he told her. He lifted his hand to show her a ring, "I...I feel this is the right thing. We care about each other, we have a good thing...I...I feel the only good option now is to propose to you." He didn't know what else he could do. Granted, he could do almost anything else, or just ignore it, but that's now the way he was. No, he had to do something. It's not like he'd have done this for someone he hated, he cared about her. He knew this could easily work out, and...he actually looked forward to it. "Marry me," he said softly, "I mean it this time. It's not a joke."

Taylor's breath caught in her throat. Her heart rate accelerated. She knew he had some sort of honor deal, but... she knew this would be the right choice. She took a deep breath, and a smile broke out across her face. "Yes." She managed to croak out with what little breath she had. She took another breath, and said it again, stronger.

He embraced her tightly and held her for a few moments before leaning back and taking up her hand, slipping his ring onto her finger. "When I wasn't looking for you, I was working on that during those long nights. I knew what I had to do when I found you again..."

Taylor had no words. She stared at the ring for a moment, awestruck, before looking to Thorne.

"I don't know if those two are still here or not," he said, "Since Annabelle's your friend, she'd probably like to know."

"Oh, we heard." Annabelle said from beyond the door. The door cracked, and the two heads poked in. "I had a feeling you two didn't actually leave." Taylor said.

Thorne didn't have anything to contribute.

"I barely know either of you, but congratulations!" Roxy said, waving. "Glad you found someone. Now, we shall be actually leaving." Annabelle said, pulling Roxy back out with her. "That was... interesting." Taylor said. "I feel like we should move in together, now that we're engaged."

"We don't have to," he told her, "Besides, I couldn't make you live here, yours is much nicer, and I can't leave my business."
