Vera was holding Kayla to her word. Kayla said she wanted to be Vera's wife, so she'd set up a small ceremony. A few troopers served as witnesses. She'd also dressed Kayla special, in a white dress that merely kept her hands tied in front of her, a bouquet tied to her hands. The chain linking her ankles was long enough to allow her to take comfortable steps, but not long enough to allow her to run, and she had a special white muzzle on. She waited.

Vera had broken her so utterly that this was right. There was nothing wrong about this, nothing at all from Kayla's perspective. She did wish she could speak though...

Another trooper was serving as the minister, so it stood between them, conducting the ceremony. Vera stood, smiling at Kayla.
