Night had fallen in the Magic Land, which meant the sky turned from a brighter purple to a slightly darker purple.
Sebastian had grown to love the ever changing sky of Earth. He wished greatly to show Koyomi such a sight, but they were still a ways off from reaching his base and the portal that lies within.
His bike had been damaged by the Mage Guard so they had no choice but to walk.
Koyomi, poor girl, had tired out so Sebastian was forced to carry her piggyback for the time being.

The nights were the only opportunity that Mentor was allowed to wander beyond the confines of the castle, and by the powers dark, he was going to exploit them.
He spent his time alone, as he preferred it, watching the progress of the Magic Land and despairing.

Speaking of desparing, Sebastian was trying his best not to let Koyomi touch any of his exposed skin or that damned curse of his would start acting up.
Sebastian lit the way with what the Earth Landers called a lighter. It was a fascinating device, which Sebastian was told repeatedly was not magic at all, which completely dumbfounded him. Many of the Earth Landers did not even know about the existence of magic. Weird.

Was that fire in the distance? Mentor's curiosity was piqued, to be sure. He began to sneak up on the source of the light, moving as silently as a person who was being very quiet.

Sebastian tried to continue on, but he was just so damned exhausted. He collapsed to his knees, dropping the lighter and causing a fire to blaze forth through the brush.
"Damnit.."

Well, that was unfortunate. At least Mentor wouldn't be hurt, because of his whole being dead thing, but those two weren't so lucky.

The fire began to spread. Sebastian had to think fast, any bigger and someone might alert the Royal Guard and those pesky mages will be all over them.
Sebastian had no choice but to transform, even if it took the last ounce of his remaining mana.
First, he laid Koyomi gingerly on the ground.
"Henshin."
He borrowed the phrase from the other wizards he encountered back on Earth.
WATER, PLEASE

"Smart boy." Mentor stood by a tree, resisting the urge to lean on it, lest he fall through it.

He scanned another ring, but..
ERROR
..was all he got.
He really only had enough mana left to transform...

The wizard seemed to be in a tight spot. Fortunately, there was a particular bit of magic that Mentor could still accomplish.
"Take some of mine!" he said, throwing a red spark at the mana-deprived spellcaster.

"Thanks," he blinked, "Whoever you are!"
LIQUID, PLEASE
Sebastian's entire body took liquid form before giving the fire a good old hug, successfully putting it out before the damage could get more severe.

Seeing the wizard put out the fire, Mentor gave him a slow clap.
"Ingenious use of water magic." he said.

"Thank you very much," he said as he took a bow, "And once again, kind stranger, I thank you for your assistance in this grave matter."
He looked down at Koyomi, fast asleep. Girl could sleep through anything.

Mentor couldn't help but roll his eyes at "grave".
"If you don't mind me asking, what were you doing out here?"

"Well.. just going on a leisurely stroll with my little sister. Headed to Stonecircle to visit family you see."
