If nothing else, the writer won't be getting work with them again, because it's primarily his fault the show did so badly. Granted, show quality doesn't often matter to Toei.

Basically as long as they show off the toys in cool fight scenes, that's all they need. Rider used to be more based on drama, but that time is long past. Sounds like Gaim might try to recapture that, though.

Oh, sorry, Gaim is the new season that's coming out next week. The head writer says he wants to return to some of the older dynamics, like more drama.
