Overview:
Rain is someone who finds the job more enjoyable than most other pursuits in life.  He feels like he's going through the motions, as if nothing is as exciting anymore compared to fighting monsters from space and having a symbiotic bond with an alien warrior.  The only real enjoyment he can find in any normal life is that of a woman's company, but even then it lacks the thrill and exhilaration of fighting as Ultraman Ghost.

Suave and confident, Rain loves women.  Some might call him a man-whore, but he wouldn't think of himself as such.  He sees himself as someone to waltz in and grace a woman's life, and then exit it when he's made it better (never thinking about any emotional damage he might do by exiting).  He fears rejection and pain, so he tries not to get an overly emotional attachment, and tries not to feel with these women.  Though he does hope to one day find someone who can take his heart and never hurt it.

He's a cocky quick thinker with a honeyed tongue.  He prefers to talk his way out of problems rather than fighting, finding words to be the much more elegant solution.  He'll fight when he has to, but lacks a lot of hand-to-hand skill.  He is proficient with a firearm, however, but that's primarily as Ghost.  He acts with an overconfidence that makes him somewhat of a risk to bring along, because he might get his allies hurt, but he doesn't think about that.

He prefers to fight alone (unless allies would be women), but he will go to calls of help.  He likes to play the hero, coming in to save the day whenever he can.  That's his favorite thing to do, actually.  Swoop in and save the day and eliminate a monster, or whatever the threat is.  That's his favorite part of being a hero, and in the employ of HUNTER.  He doesn't care about superiors, being talked to, or any sort of politics of it.  He's a soldier, a warrior, that's all.

Ghost was born to the Ultra race, and grew as a fighter and hunter. His plan in life was to become the greatest fighter he could, and do his race a service by hunting down former Ultras; those who would betray their own people.  He was one of the Ultras to respond to HUNTER and go to Earth.

Rain was born in Fuuto to a caring family.  His father was a painter, his mother was a sculptor.  Their artistic ways didn't pass onto Rain (other than as a name), and Rain always felt like he was letting them down by not having any artistic abilities to speak of.  He had a good schooling, and good friends, and didn't like to go home to the parents he felt like he had let down.

As he grew into his own man, his friends began to affect him.  He took on traits that they and their parents had, becoming a bit cockier as he grew up because of these influences.  He hated that he was influenced by others, and not his parents, and wanted to know why this was happening.  As he went into high school he changed and decided to become a new man completely.  He became a womanizer, a man of suave and grace.

This worked out rather well for Rain, and he enjoyed life and the path he was taking.  He went on to study more, but didn't know what to do.  He kind of just span his wheels for his college duration, not really finding anything worth pursuing.  And then one day he witnessed a battle with HUNTER forces.  And then Ghost arrived.

Ghost bonded with Rain and assisted in the fight.  Rain was kind of forced into recruitment after that, and loved it.  He loved the chance to be a hero and play that part in life.  Ghost was bonded with him, but really only having any power when Rain transformed, otherwise it was still Rain.  He enjoys that he's not only in half-control or anything (and doesn't care about fighting, so it works for him).

Rain is now doing whatever HUNTER wants, while living his own life of womanizing, enjoying all of it.
