Accessories:  Carries a pair of matched twin Makai Swords, each simple in design yet engineered for uncanny balance and effortless one-handed wielding in the hands of a trained Makai Knight.  These blades are nigh-impossible to wield by any being other than a Makai Knight due to the properties of the Soul Metal from which they are made.  Their handles and scabbards are black, trimmed in silver at the pommel and the tip of the scabbard, as well as around the hilt of the sword and the top of the scabbard.  He also wears a necklace without which he is never seen, a Madogu called Silva.  The only other items he tends to carry at all times are a set of five small silver Haja Daggers for holdout weapons, and an intricate silver Madoubi Lighter- an artifact capable of producing a bright blue Madou Flame that can be utilized as an offensive weapon, a light source, or even as a method of detecting hidden Horrors or other sources of evil.

Overview:  Kazuya is a very driven individual; he takes his work as a Makai Knight seriously but does not forget that there are times when he must set that aside and recover, taking in what little downtime he can and enjoying life between battles.  He gets along well with most people, provided they do not prove themselves to be what he would consider a hindrance in his goals, and is respectful of many people, even if an enemy, unless they earn his ire.  Kazuya believes strongly in the potential of humankind for good things, and understands the value of life as precious; his personal philosophy is that life is far more important than even the war against the Horrors and will do everything he can to protect it whenever possible.  But those who cross him beware- should anyone prove themselves detrimental to life, justice, or the good of humanity, he will be among the first to stand between them and humanity- no matter the cost.

Henshin Device:  His Makai Swords act as a catalyst for the change
Henshin Sequence:  Kazuya crosses his twin swords in front of himself, raising them up in that formation before carving two semicircles in the air above his head, in opposite directions. The two circles finish themselves in the air in white light, intersecting each other before merging into one, which opens a Makai portal over Kazuya's head and allows his armor to materialize over his form. Once the armor is clad, a 99.9 second countdown begins before the armor's operation time is finished and it dematerializes.

  Weapons:  Ginrouken - a matched pair of sabers, transformed from Kazuya's Makai Swords.  They can be wielded one-handed, or can be combined into a dual-bladed weapon, the Ginga Ginrouken.  This combination weapon can be used in melee combat or gives Zero a ranged option if thrown; if thrown it will act much like a boomerang in that it will fly and spin to attack and then return to Zero's hand.
  Abilities: 
  • The Zero armor allows its user increased physical strength, speed, and agility, as well as superior protection, due to being made from Soul Metal and benefiting from its properties. 
  • It is also able to increase its power through the use of a Madoubi Lighter's flame; Zero can use this to power up the Ginrouken for stronger attacks, or his whole armor for increased abilities.
    
  • Zero has the ability to summon his Madou Horse, Ginga, into battle by tracing a pattern in the air with his Ginrouken.  Ginga will then enter from Makai to assist Zero in battle, and increase his attack power while he is mounted.
  Finisher(s):  Any full-force strikes carried out with the Ginrouken are powerful enough to become felling blows on most weak Horrors.  Stronger Horrors may take some wearing down before such can be used to destroy them effectively; however with the help of the Madou Flame's power these can be felled as easily as the weaker ones.  Bigger Horrors may take damage from these attacks, but they may not be effective enough to be killing strikes unless a weak spot is targeted.
  • Rekka Ensou (Blazing Armament) - Zero uses his Madoubi Lighter to ignite his blades, in turn setting his entire armor ablaze to bring his attacks to lethal efficiency against stronger Horrors.  His attacks will send waves of his blue flames at the enemy, and direct hits from the Ginrouken blades will strike with deadly force.

• Haja Daggers - as seen above.  These small Soul Metal daggers allow a discreet ranged option to a Makai Knight when drawing swords isn't a viable option.
• Madou Lighter - as seen above.  This Soul Metal lighter carries a mystical flame that can be utilized for many purposes, both mundane and supernatural.  The flame from Zero's Madou Lighter is a bright blue in color.
• Madogu Silva - as seen above.  A sentient pendant necklace capable of giving Zero advice, assisting with detection of Horrors or other sources of darkness or evil, and (potentially) increasing Zero's attack power through interaction with his Ginrouken.  She has been with many bearers of the title of Ginga Kishi of the West, including Kazuya's predecessor, and- barring any misfortune- will likely be passed down to future Makai Knights worthy of Zero's name.
• Madou Horse Ginga - Zero's mechanical steed, constructed from Soul Metal components and given to him after slaying a hundred Horrors, as well as passing an ordeal whose details remain a mystery to any who are not Makai Knights.  Ginga is about the size of a large draft horse, and made of silver Soul Metal that is similar to that used in the creation of the Zero armor.  Ginga is a swift and powerful mount, and his head carries a long, sharp blade on the forehead that can be used to slice or pierce at enemies.  Due to the circumstances behind his bond with Zero, Ginga will recognize no other master, nor will he suffer anyone else on his back without Zero's will allowing it.  Ginga also possesses the ability to power up Zero's melee attacks while mounted, potentially even to the point where more monstrous Horrors can be taken down with the same relative ease that Zero does on foot with lesser enemies.

Kazuya Fuyutsuki is not the first to carry the title of the Silver Fang of the West, but he certainly had made a name for himself in that posting before Orochi came around.  Countless Horrors have met their end at the edge of his Ginrouken, and both the Makai Order and its enemies had a healthy respect for his work ethic.  At age fifteen he had been chosen to train as a Makai Knight by the previous Zero, a man who had a rather unorthodox view of the way that a Makai Knight's power should truly be put to use.  For ten years, Kazuya trained like a beast under his predecessor's tutelage, honing his combat skills and strength so that he, too, would become a formidable ally of justice.  While his mentor's teachings sometimes opposed even what Kazuya had been taught were the rules of a Makai Knight, he was always told that there would be a time that would come where he would understand -why- those things went against the rules.  Many times he would be confused, ask questions, or even speak out against some of the things he was being taught, but the reply Kazuya was always given was "Have faith that these things will be proven in time," accompanied by a laugh.  A few more years passed, and Kazuya grew strong under his master's training and influence.  Things seemed to be going smoothly for them, despite the occasional incidents where the prior Zero would have to be brought in for what he called a "slap on the wrist" from the Western Watchdog, some of which became heated arguments, and others which nearly erupted into physical combat between the two parties.  No matter the outcome, Kazuya's teacher remained steadfast in his convictions, and the Makai Order seemed to only frown upon those same convictions more.  Things seemed to be getting bad- and then, Orochi the Blood Knight appeared.

At first, Orochi's sudden arrival was of little consequence- he had become a formidable enemy, but he was deemed to be no more important than any other threat from Horrors by the Order.  Then it was heard that he had struck at the heart of the Makai Order itself, crippling its command structure before delivering the ultimatum that the Makai Knights were to fight under him, or die at his blade.  Kazuya's training soon became a matter of survival as he and the previous Zero went on the run, going into hiding to complete the training and prevent the other Makai Knights who had joined Orochi from finding them.  Life became constant travel, with occasional altercations between the prior Zero and his former comrades as he determined that he would stick with his "maverick" lifestyle, believing that any who joined Orochi were only staving off the inevitable- if he were capable of destroying Makai Knights left and right, there was little to stop Orochi from striking out at those who remained under his "protection," whether they continued to keep the Horrors in check or not.  Kazuya even had the unfortunate opportunity to hone his skills actively against many of those Makai Knights while his training continued, fighting back-to-back with Zero to keep themselves alive... and before long, Kazuya and his mentor found themselves labeled as dangerous enemies of Orochi's order.  Still, the two of them continued to evade both death and capture, laying waste to those who pursued them in several bloody battles.  Some of those battles were bright victories; others a testament to their tenacity, and some still a grim reminder of the might that Orochi had brought to bear against those who opposed him. 

It was not long, though, before Orochi had finally had enough of the previous Zero's games, and personally lead a choice selection of his troops on a mission to flush them out of hiding.  Zero had deemed the battle too dangerous for Kazuya to participate in, and had given him the Madogu Silva and his own pair of Makai Swords as a final gift- the sign that he was ready to seize his destiny as a true Makai Knight.  His mentor's conditions, however, were that no matter what happened Kazuya was not to strike at Orochi that day- he was to remain hidden, and then escape when the opportunity arose, so that he could carry on the mission that was passed to him.  The battle between Kazuya's mentor and Orochi's forces was fierce and brutal; Kazuya had remained well-hidden in a thicket not far from the area.  He had gritted his teeth the entire time; the previous Zero had known that he was not likely to be walking away victorious from this battle and had left him the tools and knowledge he would need to do what needed to be done.  His teacher had fought bravely, struggling to his feet even at the end, when Orochi stabbed him through the chest before decapitating him.  It was hours before he had left the thicket, having curled over in sorrow and built-up anger after what Orochi and his forces had done... sorrow for the loss of his friend and mentor, and furious rage at Orochi for not only the murder of his mentor, but the destruction of the entire Makai Order.  That night, he buried the former Zero on the spot where he had fallen in a simple grave, and set out alone.

The new Zero's arrival was a trial by fire; while the threat of Horrors was still very real and required his attention and skill, he also had to force himself to train harder, to sharpen his every technique and instinct so that when the time finally came that he would be face-to-face with Orochi, he would be able to put every ounce of his determination and anger into removing his predecessor's killer from the world.  With the Makai Order divided between Orochi's servants and those that opposed him, things like areas of jurisdiction among the Makai Knights had become a moot point.  Threats were everywhere, and as the former Zero would say to him, the best way to counter such a threat was to always move to meet it.  Kazuya has dedicated his time since to reconnaissance and fierce training, allowing himself a rare few chances in the interim to rest and remind himself of the very cause he was fighting for.  Humans deserved life and freedom; anything that attempted to destroy those things was evil and deserved to be struck down, even if human.  Kazuya was finally beginning to see why the previous Zero was such a maverick- the system was no longer working due to the circumstances that had been arising both within it and from outside it.  Things like bloodlines and districts were only a hindrance to what true justice was, and if rules were a hindrance, it was time to either change the rules or break them.  The Order had been starting to become its own enemy, and then Orochi had simply helped that process along.  He couldn't allow it to continue, but the battle was one that couldn't be fought alone.

Kazuya knows that there are still some left who would oppose Orochi and his forces.  He also knows that there have been a scant few who have faced Orochi in combat and lived to tell the tale, though not without paying a heavy cost.  His mission, now, is to determine whether those few are still up to the challenge of taking down Orochi once and for all, and then confront him- and in the interim, his mission is still like any other Makai Knight's: to rid the world of the hellish evil of the Horrors, and return them from whence they came so that the human world may enjoy life in freedom and peace.
