Overview: Rina, at first glance, appears to be a happy and carefree airheaded dork to those who don't know her well enough. In actuality though, she's intelligent, well-spoken in English, learning Japanese more, and stays cool when she needs to be. Giving up isn't really in her nature, but she's not stubborn either. The people who don't know her well enough are half-right though. She's a huge dork, with or without Rena, and carries on friendly banter with Rena, witty and snarkage alike.

Born in Los Angeles to mixed parentage, her early life was normal at best. Being taken care of well in a loving home, and all of that. When she started elementary school, she ended up meeting someone named Rena, and within the space of a few months they became close. Having one fight along the way to middle school, neither of them remember what it was about, so they don't dwell on it. After that, they became closer, almost inseperable. Their families dined together, they gave presents back and forth, and even went on trips into the outdoors. It was during one of those times that Rena nearly drowned, but Rina was able to brace herself with little legs and pull her out, only to have the favor repaid not 20 minutes later.

Drawn closer by their mutual near brush with death, they continue through middle school, and to celebrate their dual graduation from middle school, the entire family embarked on a week long journey to Disneyland. And over that summer was when they had their first crushes, too. Hillary, Rena's nickname for Rina, having a crush on a girl, and the other having a crush on a boy. Such things were protracted towards the end of the summer, until..neither one worked out. Rena got over it ok, but Rina has some lingering doubts.

Now, it's their freshman year of high school, and they're trying to go forward..while being absolutely dorky the whole way, like they have in their lives until now.
