Overview: In the field, Fiona is very much a consummate professional who expects everyone to perform to their best standard. She can be quite prone to doing what is right over what is more pragmatic at the time, which can be an issue when convincing her otherwise. In addition, she is driven to succeeding in a given task or mission, which makes accepting the occasional setback or defeat difficult, though she is learning. Outside of her life as a Gekiranger, Fiona is quite relaxed and outgoing, though she is somewhat reluctant to form a long-term relationship, preferring to focus on her duties.

Raised as an only child, Fiona had to struggle with the death of her mother at a young age. In school, Fiona was somewhat withdrawn in regards to social interaction, preferring to spend time by herself playing video games or watching movies with her father. Having held quite a temper, she occasionally got into fights with other students, marring an otherwise decent academic record (though she struggled greatly at mathematics). This concerned her and her father greatly, as she struggled to understand why she was so angry.

Hoping to perhaps provide an outlet for her frustrations, and to get her to interact more with people, Fiona’s father encouraged her to take up martial arts. The best value was a club owned by the Japanese sporting goods company, SCRTC. Fiona enrolled there and quickly became an adept practitioner, eventually earning a demonstration at the New York Youth Martial Arts Expo. However, during said demonstration she ended up tripping over herself midway through her demo in front of the judges, causing her to miss out of the finals. An frustrated Fiona went to the SCRTC gym that night, furiously striking the punching bag as she berated herself as a failure.

Thinking herself alone, Fiona did not notice there was someone else in the gym. Finally calming down somewhat, she turned to face none other than Miki Masaki, the head of SCRTC herself. The CEO had attended the expo in person and expressed that Fiona showed a great deal of potential, but had to control her emotions to truly master her style. It was then she introduced to another occupant in the room, an old cat-man named Sha-Fu, who offered to bring Fiona under her wing, and introduce her to the Geki Juken style.

In between semesters at college, Sha-Fu taught Erin the ways of Geki Juken, how to harness the inner Ki within her in the form of Geki. At first, Fiona struggled to even practice the technique, and once again became subject to flashes of temper. Eventually, Sha-Fu got Fiona to open up regarding her mother’s untimely passing, and inner self-doubt as the source of her anger. Recognizing the need to be honest with one’s self and others, as well as to approach the situation with a clear and open heart, Erin took the first step towards becoming a true Gekiranger.

By the time Fiona graduated, she had grown into a confident young woman, becoming more outgoing and sociable with other people. Whilst she has become better at controlling her emotions, she still bears some of the lingering self-doubt and anger from her youth. During her training with Sha-Fu, the old master told her stories of the Rin Juken, a martial arts style that contrasted greatly with Geki Juken. Whilst Geki was fueled by passion, justice, honesty and selflessness, Rin Juken prioritized power, rage, and the desire to dominate others, “the strong eat, and the weak become meat”. At the conclusion of her training, Sha-Fu confessed to Fiona that he sensed dark times ahead for the Geki Juken school, at least revealing the purpose of her training: To determine if she was worthy to become a Gekiranger. As a final test, Sha-Fu allowed Fiona the chance to leave, warning her of the incredible burden being a Gekiranger would be.

Without hesitation, Fiona accepted the responsibility, GekiYellow was born.
