She didn't care much for summer, because it made her be at home. She preferred school, if only to escape her mother. She still couldn't stand to look at the woman, knowing what type of person she was. She had taken any excuse to leave home, and was sitting at a pond, looking at the blue water.
Hers was the power of water. She'd used it twice so far, but she had a good enough grip on things, she felt. She liked to spend time at the water like this, just because it felt a bit more right.

Rebecca sat at the pond, playing with a few stones. She slung the stone, skipping it across the pond. She smiled and watched the water ripple. When she had nothing going on, she would come here. No screens, no twitting.
