I Don't See a Thing (Kakeru)

The blast hit it square in the chest, causing the beast to stumble back. It made it's gurgling-growl again, before continuing to charge, keeping up the psionic onslaught.

The nurse soon finished attaching the electrodes, and went back to continue fiddling with the device. Claudia kept shouting, trying to see if Kakeru would find her in time.

It continued to charge.

The nurse suddenly smacked the device. Her outfit began darkening, and a few red stains formed. "Damn thing never works..." She muttered, picking it up and inspecting it.

The beast flinched with each strike, carving a cavity I to it's chest. When Kakeru was finished, it toppled over and collapsed into dust.

Claudia first heard him shouting, then her Dialer, which was still in her butt pocket, went off. The straitjacket prevented her from doing much of anything, but the nurse didn't seem pleased. She waved her hand, and returned to the device.

Outside, the cell doors swung open, and things began flying everywhere. The objects seemed directed at trying to disable Kakeru in some way, from straitjackets to chairs.

Claudia tried to yell through the strap, but the nurse finally figured out her device. The first shock sent Claudia's mind into a daze, and her vision went black again.

Just down the hall from Kakeru's position was an open door, leading into an office. The only thing on the desk was a simple brown leather notebook.

The things outside immediately dropped to the floor. The nurse vanished, but the electrodes remained. The door to the room she was in also swung open.

The Dialer continued emitting noise. Claudia was too dazed from the shock still to make any herself.
