Kakeru laughed, before launching another assault, trying to slow them down enough to let the ship get away, but not making much progress.

"I'm punching sharks, but they're robot sharks, and the size of school buses." Claudia said, slamming a fist into a cybernetic eyeball, tearing it out and letting it float adrift. "At least our day isn't boring anymore."

Kakeru continued to fire, deciding to focus his fire on a specific spot and break through the armor that way.

Kakeru continued to fire, again and again, finally piercing the armor, and jamming a fist in, to tear it open further.

"Last time I went after an eye, I got hit with a laser." He continued to tear away armor, before firing some shots into the body to disable it.

Claudia ripped her spear out, turning and blasting through the water to drive it into the eye of another Parassita.

Kakeru continued to assault the Parassita's hide, piercing it and repeating the previous pattern, moving on again.

With a twist of the spear, the shark seemed to die, and Claudia leapt off of the dead hulk, using it to propel her toward another shark and her spear into another eyeball.

As they moved on to attack the next pair, an absurdly loud sound resonated through the water, shaking Kakeru and Claudia to the core, and sending the remaining sharks fleeing. "The fuck?!"

"I think we woke up some sorta Biblical monster. Sonar's getting some serious readings." Claudia said, seeing an absolutely titanic mass moving up from the depths.
