Overview:
Cécile is a woman living a life she wants nothing to do with. She considers herself a dead woman walking. Without her brother this world is like purgatory. She exists to experience pain and torment while she awaits the next final step. She tries not to dwell on these thoughts for they are useless. She won’t commit suicide. She personally experienced the pain that caused those closest to the victim. She won’t force her father to deal with another suicide.
Also, she really wants to figure out why her brother committed suicide. She refuses to believe that he would do such thing without leaving her some kind of letter or message. It was too sudden. He didn’t call or say goodbye. There must be something she missed, some clue to explain why he gave up on everything. Her brother was never a quitter. He had so much hope and would fight until the bitter end of a game even if there was practically no chance for victory.
She’s riddled with guilt. She blames herself for both her brother’s confinement and his suicide. And any guilt or regret her felt when he killed their mother, that was her fault too. She shouldn’t have listened to her mother. She hated the woman. She should have known better.
She keeps most of her feelings locked up inside because she doubts that anyone would really understand what she’s going through. Her father has dealt with enough misery. She doesn’t want to further taint his happiness. She doesn’t want to upset her friends. People shouldn’t have to suffer just because she’s miserable.
Since she can’t kill herself she tries to enjoy herself where she can. She draws, listens to music, eats sweets, watches television, does all the normal things to try and feel slightly less empty, feel slightly more contented.
Despite wanting to die she dose wish to protect people. She feels like she completely and utterly failed her brother so at least she wants to try and help others to make up for her mistakes. Besides, her brother was always kind and caring. He would approve. She was always kind and caring too but in a more in your face kind of way, much less gentle.
She is brutally honest and blunt to the point of rudeness. If she has a beef to pick with someone she won’t beat around the bush. When asked her opinion she’ll tell the person exactly what she thinks without filtering anything. Often times she’ll offer her opinion even when it wasn’t asked for.
She’s stubborn to a fault and when someone tells her not to do something, unless there’s a really good reason for it, she’ll immediately begin planning how to do said thing without getting caught. She loves the challenge and she loves solving the mystery. Often times people will say don’t do x or don’t touch x because they’re trying to keep something secret. She always has to know what.

History
Cécile was born in Paris a few years after her brother Adrien. She was extremely close to her big brother. She was the mischievous troublemaker out of the pair. She wasn’t cruel just playful. She thought her brother was too straight and narrow. He needed to loosen up and break the rules a bit. She would find loop holes around rules. She’d run in the house when she wasn’t supposed to, trying to convince her brother to play tag. She could usually break him down with her laughter and smile. When there was dessert the children weren’t supposed to eat until after dinner, she’d sneak into the kitchen. She’d run back with two cookies or whatever the sweet was and force one into her brother’s hand, insisting that he was an accomplice who had to keep the secret.
She’d try to get her brother to laugh more and loosen up. She thought he was much too tense for his own good. In turn he tried to get her to study more seriously and be more responsible. She could be too laid back for her own good. She loved her brother dearly so he was able to reel her in a bit and focus more on school and obligations.
Cécile would ask him for help with her homework since he was older. He would always oblige unless he was really busy. Cécile always had a lot of energy and would try to distract him when he was studying or working. She’s ask him to read her a story or play hide and seek or some other game. They played a lot of games together.
Cécile and her brother were closer to their father but they were originally close to their mother as well. Near the end of the marriage they distanced themselves from her as much as possible and just entirely ignored her. They thought it was horrible that their mother had an affair and that their dad was much better off without her. (Also, more of the mother’s problems were becoming apparent.)
Cécile was really proud that Adrien was stepping up and ignoring their mother. She always thought he was too nice to everyone. Both siblings were kind and caring people; but, Cécile was much more liberal with her words. She’d wheedle her brother a lot to admit her feelings, at least to her. "It's okay. It sucks. You can say it. C'mon say it. You'll feel better!"
When she was 13 and her brother was 18 the divorce was filed and there was a custody battle for Cécile. However, their father had the better paying job and Cécile insisted she wanted to live with him so full custody was granted to the father. The mother was deemed to be an unfit parent and she would need supervision when visiting Cécile.
Her brother went to a local college so it was just her and her father and later her step-mother. She would send snail mail to Adrien every week to show her love and support. She preferred snail mail because she loved to draw and she wanted to give him ‘inspiring art’. She understood he was busy so she didn’t expect him to respond. He occasionally sent back a letter which delighted her; and, he visited her when he could.
When she was 15 her mom came to visit her without permission after school. She wanted Cécile to come to her house and have dinner with her or at least a snack. Cécile really hated her mother by this point; and, she loathed their forced visits. She was prepared to turn her down cold; but, her mother played on her emotions. She said she knew she’d had problems and she wanted to try to mend their relationship. She just wanted to see her daughter by herself for a little bit. She also played on the fact that Cécile loved breaking the rules. She wasn’t supposed to visit her mother without someone else present. It would be the their little secret. Not realizing the depth of her mother’s instability, she agreed.
She went to her mother’s house for food; but, the food was drugged. Her mother got rid of Cécile’s phone and moved her into the car. She managed to smuggle the girl to Spain. Cécile was trapped in the basement, a chain binding her leg to a bed. Never one to play politician she screamed at her mother, telling her that she hated her and that she was a basket case and that she’d better let her go right now.
She tried to make as much noise as possible when her mother was gone; but, no one ever heard her. She wasn’t fed well because she refused to tell the sick, twisted woman she loved her. Her experience would have been easier if she had; but, she couldn’t bring herself to say it after all her mother had done. She called her mother a bitch and a sick twisted freak and continued to express how much she hated her. She was hit a lot, especially when her mother caught her trying to escape which was often. Cécile really wanted to leave the mad woman behind. She acted tough in front of her mother but she was really terrified. She was scared she would die alone in the basement and that no one would ever find her.
About a year after she was abducted Adrien came to save her. She had never been so glad to see anyone in her entire life. Her mother was out so he cut her chain and they left. The plan was to get out of the country; but, they didn’t get far.
She confronted the two of them with a gun, Cécile cowering behind her brother in fear. Then that monster had the nerve to stay that she deserved to have one of the children. She demanded that Adrien hand Cécile back to her. There was a struggle which Cécile was no part of. She was too weak to be of much help after being under fed and chained to a bed in a basement for a year. In the end Adrien got the gun and kept the mother back.
The mother demanded to know how her son could do something like that. How someone that was part her could do this. That angered Adrien. He told her he wasn’t like her, that he wasn’t a part of her, even as her child. He wouldn’t do something like that.
Cécile became hysterical at this point. Cécile said that her mother would never let her go, that she’d abduct her again and she’d be locked up for the rest of her life. She’d die all alone in some basement and no one would ever know what happened to her. She was shaking and hyperventilating when she heard the gunshot.
Then the next thing she knew her brother was telling her he loved her. She knew he had only done what he did because he loved her. She grabbed him in a hug, sobbing, telling him she loved him to.
She didn’t care that Adrien had killed her mother. The woman was a twisted monster. She was safe now, safe from the demon. But she was worried about his future. She was scared he’d be arrested and locked away.
Her fears proved valid. He was arrested by the Spanish authorities while she was forced home. She insisted that she wanted to stay with her brother; but, she was a minor and had little say in the matter. She at least convinced her father to let her testify at his trial.
It wasn’t fair. This was all her fault. If she hadn’t broken the rules, none of this would have happened. She knew her mother was unfit. That was why she had to be supervised for visits. But she had let her mother play her and now her brother was in trouble. And maybe if she hadn’t lost it she wouldn’t have pushed her brother over the edge. If she had been calmer maybe he wouldn’t have pulled the trigger. She was the one who always broke the rules. He was the narrow and straight by the book guy. How could he be arrested? How could be imprisoned?!
She testified as to her mental state. She had become hysterical and lost it. Although it wasn’t a matter of self defense she had been scared and her brother had been trying to protect her.
Her testimony mattered little as he had not acted in self defense and had committed murder. She said goodbye and promised to write him letters same as always.
Her father originally tried to force Cécile into therapy. She didn’t want to go and made that quite clear. She wasn’t cooperative in sessions and soon her father stopped forcing the issue. She wrote her brother letters weekly, continuing to send him ‘inspiring art’. The guilt ate away at her but she just tried to convince herself to be patient. She’d get to see him eventually.
When she was 18 she was informed that her brother had committed suicide. They sent back the body; but, they assured the family there had been no last note or message. Cécile could not believe that. It was too sudden. He didn’t call or say goodbye. There must be something she missed, some clue to explain why he gave up on everything.
As she was no longer a minor she convinced her father to let her go to Spain to try and figure out what happened to give her some sense of closure. Worried about her mental state after everything, he reluctantly agreed. (She was still living at home and attending high school as she had been held back a year due to her abduction.)
She acted like she was perfectly fine with going to Spain but in truth she was terrified. She really didn’t want to remember what had happened here. She hadn’t discussed the details with anyone. Normally she would have talked to her brother about it; but, he had been indisposed and she felt guilty enough about what happened to him. She didn’t want to make him feel any worse. Her father already thought she needed therapy and she didn’t want to be ‘that damaged person’ to anyone else.
Despite her fears and misgivings she went to Spain, looking for answers. She found nothing but she was stubborn and persistent. She wasn’t able to protect the brother who had saved her. She felt she at least had an obligation to understand why he had committed suicide.
Her soon to be dinosaur partner was touched by her determination and strong will. It chose her because it sensed a desire to protect and it was troubled by her great grief. It was very protective itself. It was afraid that without a purpose she would commit suicide. It was linked to her with the grief. It too had lost someone precious long ago.
Cécile found the henshin device and was inexplicably drawn towards it. When she touched it, she just felt like it belonged to her. Thoughts filled her head and she ‘saw’ her partner. And she understood what she needed to do to transform and protect others.
She finally went back home. She couldn’t miss too much school. She didn’t want to get held back another year. She started fighting for justice, still trying to figure out why her brother had killed himself. She couldn’t really communicate with her partner but often times she felt like she was being watched. She viewed her partner as almost a guardian angel, a kindred spirit. They could sometimes feel each other’s emotions.
She talks to her partner a lot. She doesn’t know her name or if she even has one so she gave her the name Cybil. She doesn’t know if Cybil can actually hear her or understand but it makes her feel better to ‘talk’ to her; and, it gives her some perspective. Sometimes when she’s really depressed, she’ll feel this comforting presence and know that her partner is worrying about her.
She currently attends King’s College in London. Although she loves art she knows she can’t make a career out of it. And she wouldn’t want to sacrifice her enjoyment for money. She’s always been rather fond of languages. She would learn them and make up some codes to keep secrets and break rules. She plans on maybe becoming a linguist or translator. She doesn’t really have long terms plans so she’s not sure; and, that doesn’t bother her. She plans on being dead before she really needs to worry about a career.
