It felt strange, being out of his culture, out of his country, being alone on the search for some ancient magical artifact that he wasn't even sure of. He knew a general area, but that was it. He didn't know how big it was, what it looked like, anything.
He flipped his hat onto his head and thrust his hands into his pockets. He was near the shore, and it was beautiful.

Anna walked out of the water in a nondescript part of the shore, drenched from head to toe. She was dragging a long chain behind her, having thrown it over her shoulder. She was trying to perfect the act of untying herself from chains underwater, while blindfolded. She could do it easily of course, but of course she had to maintain the masquerade that it wasn't ACTUALLY magic. She could breath underwater and break locks with ease, but she didn't want to.
So with a sigh she threw the chains into a backpack and carried it on her back. As she walked down the beach she used a spot of fire from her Blaze ring to dry herself off. She was tired enough that she didn't care who saw.

Jack had seen her come out of the water. "Well, isn't that strange?" he said to himself, heading down to the shoreline. He hadn't seen her use her magic, but once he'd reach her of course the question of how she'd be dry would come to mind. He was primarily curious about what she had been doing with chains in the water.

Anna whipped out her wand and started levitating the backpack behind her. She could probably just carry them, but the things are heavy. So she figured that she'd just be safe. Her stomach growled loudly. "Damn I could use a donut" she said, trying not to lick her lips.

Jack hurried over to her. A floating pack...ok...
He thrust his hands into his pockets as he headed straight for her, "Well, that's an interesting sight," he said, "Not often you see a beautiful woman emerge from the ocean with chains."

Anna turned around to see the man in the eye. Damn. She couldn't explain that away easily. "Are you sure you aren't seeing things?" she asked. Out of the corner of her eye she saw her backpack floating. She quickly snatched it, throwing it over her shoulder. "That... uh..." she sighed. "I can't explain that away can I?"

"You don't need to," he left it at that. "It can remain one of life's mysteries. Although the chains are still something I question...," he said.

"Magic act" Anna confirmed. "So what brings another American to Japan?"

"In search of treasure," he said, "But that's another story. Magic act?" He smiled, "You know, I like to dabble myself."

"Alright then," he said, lifting one hand up. He used it to brush against her cheek on his way to her ear, "You have something precious back here," he said, also toying with her hair a little. He took something and drew his hand out in front of her, closed fist, "It's something very precious, and something you'll need. Take a guess."

"If it involves a bed the answer is 'not until I no longer smell like Shamu'" Anna said.

He opened his hand. There was nothing in it.
"Air," he said, leaning in and kissing her.

"Cute" she conceded, with a wink.

He smiled, "I try to be. Are you busy tonight? By the way, I'm Jack. Jack Drake."
