• He will follow whatever orders he receives regardless of what they are or who in the order they came from because he doesn’t want to do overtime, get scolded, or sucked into ‘political bullshit’.

• Somehow manage to form a life that doesn’t revolve around the Makai Knights. Maybe at least work part time in the magic business.

Overview:

Jun is probably the least motivated Makai Knight.  He feels that it’s his duty and obligation to fight the good fight against Horrors and protect people; but, he’s not particularly passionate about his work.  Sometimes he’s grateful he can make a difference but mostly he’s bitter that he never had any choice as to the direction of his future.  It was decided from the moment he was born that he would inherit Dan.

Jun does want to do well in his work and bring pride to his family because he has little else outside his Makai work.  As much as he wishes it were otherwise, his life completely revolves around Order business.  He tries to finish his tasks as quickly as possible so he can spend some time doing things he likes.  He wants time that just belongs to him. Not to order members. Not to Horrors. Not to all the innocents he needs to protect. To him and him alone.  His limited free time, outside of work and training, is devoted to parlor magic tricks.  This is his way of rejecting and rebelling against a duty he can’t ignore.  He is capable of supplementing his attacks with actual magic.  But on his own time he chooses fake magic, he chooses the mundane world.
Outside of work, Jun seems really relaxed and at ease.  He figures that since he’s so tense and focused on the job he needs to make up for lost time.  Little phases him and he simply tries to enjoy himself as much as possible. He’ll crack some jokes and act a bit goofy.

Jun was born to a Makai Knight and a Makai Priestess. His dad was Dan and his dad before him etc.  There was never any question as to what his future would hold. He would train to become a knight.  He would then don his armor and slay Horrors until he died. His life would belong to the Makai Order and he’d have little time to mingle with the mundane world. His purpose was to protect the innocents and allow these innocents to live their lives in ignorance.

Jun wasn’t exactly grateful of his destiny but he wasn’t about to reject it.  His parents instilled in him the importance of his work.  He viewed himself as a sort of glorified scape goat. His own future and happiness were sacrificed for the peace of the rest of the world. Not fun but he’d cope. What else could he do?  And saving innocents was noble even if it really wasn’t what he wanted for himself.

He was the guy who would follow orders to the letter but not go a step further. When he was done, he was done and he was going to play with mundane magic. The only exception was with respect to his Mado-Horse.  He really wanted to pass the exam to receive it because he believed the horse would help cut down his combat time and perhaps give him that little nugget of extra free time. He worked hard to obtain Hayate.  Hayate didn’t really give him the extra leisure time he’d hoped for but he has grown rather fond of his 99 second companion.
