Jun simply smiled. "If you're trying to rile me up you'll have to do a lot better than that. No where in my job description does it say I have to impress you. Nope, I didn't even get an order about that one."
"Jun, you might have to work with him," Uriel cautioned.
"Well if I'm ordered to do so there will be nothing for it. But that still doesn't make it my job to make sure he's all warm and happy. And to be fair he did insult me first."
"And to be fair you didn't exactly come with your best attitude," Uriel pointed out.
"Wait, I have a best attitude?"
"Exactly."

"You would do well to listen to your Madougu." Katsu said. "It would be a shame to see a Horror tear you apart." Katsu turned to survey the map of the city on the wall.
"Ooh, ouch. You gonna take that?" Aru asked.
"Aru, you are a child." Gensetzu said.
"You can't say anything. You imitate Groucho Marx in your free time." Aru shot back.

"You know, that's likely how both of us will die," Jun said relaxed, looking back at Katsu. "Few knights die of old age. A Horror will likely get us one day. It's just a matter of where and when. Don't tell me you haven't come to grips with that yet?"
Uriel sighed. "I'd tell you kids to play nice but I feel I'd just be wasting my breath. Gensetzu, sorry for the trouble. Hopefully our partners calm down soon."

"Zen would smack me for what exactly?" Jun asked not terribly concerned. "Our Order might have a shit ton of rules, regulations, and responsibilities, but as of yet I've read nothing that says I can't speak frankly."

"I try to pay as little attention to Order politics and gossip as possible. If he tries to smack me that's all well and good. Us Knights heal pretty quickly. He wouldn't be able to temper my tongue anyways. We have few choices available to us. I take great pleasure in at least being able to say what I think."

"It doesn't matter if you accept the inevitability of being killed in battle; all creatures have a biological instinct of self-preservation. It is within your best interest to not be a total jackass to everyone, otherwise you'll get killed by something that wouldn't have done so normally."

"I've been doing just fine," Jun said casually. People could respond more quickly and efficiently when they were on their own anyway. "Not like I care but shouldn't you actually practice what you preach? You don't seem to be the friendly sort."

Jun shrugged. "I never asked for your respect. Likewise you shouldn't expect it from me. Our actions will define us not our words."
He laughed. "Oh no! No Order friends! That will be such a change for me!" he said sarcastically. He stared back at Aru. "When a Knight fights he's always alone. No one can protect you out there. So really what consequence are friends?"

"In the coming storm, you will need friends." Aru said. "I know for a fact Katsu would abandon you in a heartbeat just for the content of this conversation. It doesn't matter if you've been doing fine without friends, or if you're always alone, which you're not, but I'll address that in a second. You're going to need friends eventually. No man is an island. As for the alone point, you have Uriel, do you not?"

Jun nodded looking down at his partner. "Yes, I can always depend on Uriel," he said sincerely.
"Now if only you'd listen to me more often! Really Jun...This is not the way to start. I don't suppose I can convince you to try and be a bit more respectful? Hospitable? You probably will need to cooperate with them."
Jun sighed. "Well from what I hear we have a big enough mess on our hands without all this bickering."
"And?" Uriel prompted.
"And?" Jun asked innocently.
"Jun!" Uriel said sternly.
"I probably could have come with a better attitude. I apologize," he said with resignation.
