Jerome adjusted his earpiece and looked through the barrel of his rifle. He was perched atop a building in London, waiting. There was an Orphnoch who needed to be assassinated after the murders it had done. Jerome was the one who was going to be pulling the trigger. With pleasure.
No monster deserved to live.

Meanwhile, Eurydice was walking around London, heading to the center of town so she can do an interview about kaijin rights with a local radio station. She had no idea what was going on in the shadows, no idea that there was about to be a kaijin assassinated before her... So she continued to walk at a brisk pace, calm and dignified.

He breathed evenly. The Kaijin in human guise was finally within sight. He moved his rifle along with it, waiting, waiting...
He lined up with the monster's head, and then he fired. One shot is all he figured he'd need. These bullets were designed to kill Orphnochs. Human form, or monster form, there was no way it was going to survive this bullet. Especially not to the head.
The bullet tore through the man's head. He crumpled to the ground, body shimmering between human and Orphnoch form as it spasmed on the ground.

Eurydice heard something fall on the ground behind her, and she looked back to find a man... no, an Orphenoch, convulsing on the ground as she ran towards it. She saw the bullet hole and looked up, wondering where the shot was fired from.

Jerome lifted his rifle and put it into its case. He rose from his spot and looked down into the streets. The monster bastard was dead...good. It had no right to live, no right to murder humans.
He carried the rifle case (disguised as a suitcase, the rifle broken into pieces) and headed into the street. He was going to go take a look before he left.

Eurydice stayed by it, even after it had passed. "Who would do something like this? He didn't even do anything wrong?"

Nothing wrong? Jerome had to resist the urge to make a comment. Who'd think a monster had done nothing?

The lawyer's eyes narrowed, and she got up. "May peace be with you in the next life," she muttered.

He kept his eyes on this girl. "Why do you show it any care for its death?" he questioned.

"Not all kaijin are inherently evil," she said. "You may think that, but it's not true."

"How can it not be true?" he questioned, "It probably has the blood of many on its hands." It did, but he didn't want to overplay anything by saying that as a fact.

"Some don't want to be constant targets for heroes... They just want to live out their lives."

"And if those lives involve bloodshed?"

"Those don't get sympathy from me. But the ones that don't... the ones that are innocent, who don't want to kill... what about them."

"They're probably a heartbeat away from killing," he said.
