"Blah, why should I care for this sham reality?"

"What are you talking about?! Innocent people are dying! Are you really okay with that?!" she demanded.

"That is not my concern," he said, "There are hundreds of rangers and riders and other people in colorful spandex running around fighting monsters. They don't need me to get in the way."

"How can you be so selfish?!" Sayuri asked, truly appalled. "People are dying and you have the ability to save them! You've been trained, you have the power, you really have the capability of minimizing casualties! Are you're going to throw that away for what?!" she demanded. "What could possibly be more important?!"

He burst out of the room and looked Sayuri square in the face, "You dare ask me what is important? There is only one thing that is important to me."
He took a dramatic pause.
"And that is love!"

"A warrior is filled with love!" she shot back. "A strong, compelling love to protect the innocent! How can you expect to find love if you ignore the suffering of others?! You have a responsibility to help those people because you can! You have the power! You were trained! You can do what others can't!"

"Fool, i'm not talking about your fake three dimensional love, i'm talking about the pure love that only exists in the two dimensional world!"

She stared at him aghast. He was talking about video game love?! She tried not to be too judgmental when it came to others but this here...That was pretty messed up.
"And you can't find love in this two dimensional world and save three dimensional people as well?" she asked. She supposed how he spent his free time was up to him. She wouldn't complain so long as he wasn't skirting his responsibilities.

"You're relentless aren't you?" he sighed deeply, "Fine, if I go out right now and save one person - just one! Then would you please leave me alone?"

"Why is saving people such a chore to you?" she asked. "Don't you want to help?"

"I don't see why it's such a big deal to you. People will always be in danger, there's no stopping that - no matter how much man power you have in your disposal."

"That's true! No matter how much we give, no matter how many people we save, it'll never be enough!" she said frustrated. "That's why it's so important to give it our best and limit casualties!"

Toshiro sighed, "You can be a pain, you know that?"
He took one look at his grandfather pretending not to listen down the hall and sighed again.
"I'll go out and save somebody or do my samurai duty or whatever, but not because you quilted me into it. I'm repaying you for the batteries."

She hated to bribe people into doing their responsibility but if that's what it would take...
"I'm a Kindergarten teacher," she admitted. "I don't make that much but I could afford to buy you a game or two every one and a while. And I can help with the batteries. If I do that, will you do your duty and save people?" she asked him.

"You'll buy me games huh?" he pondered this for a moment, "Deal."
