"We should try, but aiming for perfection? No," she said, "It robs us of who we are, I believe. But enough about this, we have other things to talk about."

Shouldn't aim for perfection? What else would one aim for?
Sayuri simply nodded and waited to see what Marilen wanted to talk about.

"Let's talk about Kiriha."

"Okay." Marilen knew more about Kiriha than Sayuri. Sayuri wasn't sure what Marilen expected her to say.

"We should go find him."

Sayuri hesitated for a moment. She did want to help Kiriha; but, she had no idea what she should say to him. Then again, hadn't she come back to the hospital in hopes of seeing him? Why else would she come here? She knew Mariko was probably still too tired for visitors.
She slowly nodded her head. "Do you know where he is?"

"Home, probably," she said.

She bowed respectfully to Marilen. "Please show me the way."

"Come on," she said, leading Sayuri out, "Oh, I know all about what happened here yesterday, Joji-kun told me." She'd mostly wanted to see what Sayuri might tell her. She knew all about Kiriha storming out and very possibly losing his position.

"Is he quitting?" she asked Marilen with concern. He'd just walked out yesterday. But the hospital should understand he was grieving. Surely they wouldn't want him working when he was in such a fragile state. They'd likely be willing to take him back if he wanted to return.
"He loves being a doctor. He wouldn't actually quit, would he?"

"I talked to Joji-kun, I didn't talk to Kiriha," she said, "Apparently things don't sound good, but I have no idea on Kiriha's end."

"If he wanted to return I'm sure he could. If he explained that he was mourning a friend's death and was unfit to work, it would be cruel not to take him back. But at the time, he didn't particularly seem like he wanted to come back."
"But his dream is to be a doctor! I'm sure he wants to return!" Well he also had the savior dream but Marilen couldn't know about that one.

"We'll see. Money speaks loudly," she said, "He'll probably be fine."

Sayuri sighed. "Money should not play a part in it but past experiences speak otherwise." Yes, it was a whole different ball game if you could throw cash at a problem. Sayuri never had that particular luxury.

"I'm sure our father will make sure Kiriha has enough money to get back in," she said.
