Overview:
Richard wants to protect as many people as possible. He’s thrilled to be both a policeman and a super hero. He isn’t concerned with super heroes technically being vigilantes, believing they’re necessary given all the incidents. Although he does believe that normal humans can be every bit as monstrous as actual monsters so is happy to help capture the human threats as well.

Richard is obsessed with making hats. He’ll be walking down the street and he’ll see someone and that might inspire the idea for a perfect hat. Inspiration hits a lot sometimes from books or television. Anything can spark his creative spirit. He has a good memory so he doesn’t need to write it down immediately. But as soon as he has time he’ll start sketching it in his notebook. He doesn’t sketch anything beyond the hats; but, those are typically quite good. Once he has an idea he’ll work with all haste to complete. He’s not necessarily sure where the hat will go when he’s finished but he simply must make it. He has a room devoted to all the hats he’s created that he has not yet found homes for. He doesn’t typically wear many himself. He never charges anyone for his hats but gives them out freely. He believes they have a place they belong and it’s typically not with him.

He very much loves tea and the process of properly brewing it. He can typically tell what type of tea something is and what ingredients were used in its creation with a single sip. He enjoys participating in tea tastings and putting this to the test.

Richard believes people should help each other to the best of their ability and that people should ask for help when they need it. That being said, he is somewhat of a hypocrite as he tries to do everything on his own, not wishing to cause others grief. Although he thinks people should help each he’s seen enough of human nature to realize this is the ideal situation and not necessarily reality. Although typically calm, he’s likely to lose his temper if he finds out people just stood by and did nothing while something horrible happened. If there was nothing they could do that’s one thing. But if they could have helped without putting themselves at great risk, he’s disgusted if they didn’t do so and has no qualms with expressing his loathing hatred to said individuals.

As a police officer he is sometimes tasked with informing people of their family member’s deaths. This is his absolute least favorite part of being a police officer. He hates being the bearer of bad news and witnessing the people’s despair up close. He can’t help but feel responsible when he experiences the people’s personal grief. Afterwards he’ll go home and essentially lock himself in his study, staying up late working on hats in a vain attempt to comfort himself.

Richard is much too hard on himself. He wants to save everyone and is frustrated when he can’t. On a conscious ration level he realizes he’s human and that it’s absurd to even think he could protect everyone. But on a deeper level he’s distressed at how much suffering the world is filled with. Too few people truly care about others pain and as one who is concerned with others well being, he finds it disgraceful and intolerable that he can’t always get to everyone in time and prevent everything.

He takes pains to keep his hair neat and presentable since people do expect police officers to look respectable. But once he’s off duty he really doesn’t give a damn what he looks like. Comfortable clothes are all the matter. Sometimes his clothes don’t even match or the colors contrast.

  Finisher(s): Rider Sting: By pressing a button on the Zecter, the stinger grows and starts to charge. A finishing attack punch is then used, and can be used on multiple targets before the energy is used up.

Richard Drago was raised in a middle class family in Leeds. His parents weren’t super wealthy but he and his older sister Sara always had everything they needed. His parents love both of their children dearly and the family was very happy and stable. Education was valued so that their kids could build whatever futures they desired for themselves.

Richard and Sara were very close. They spent a fair amount of time together for brother and sister. Sara would help Richard with his homework if he got stuck on problems and they would play all sorts of games together. He was devastated when she was murdered. She was 18 at the time and had been dating someone who was overly possessive and manipulative. She got accepted into her dream school and planned on breaking it off with him. She thought it would be safer if she dumped him at home when her younger brother was around. (He was only a year younger and could look very intimidating.) When she explained they were breaking up, her boyfriend pulled out a gun and shot her five times before Richard managed to tackle him and knock the gun out of his hand. He watched his sister die.

Richard was extremely depressed about the incident but decided to focus his bitter feelings on something productive. He’d been weak and helpless. Sara had expected him to protect her and he had failed. So he needed to get stronger. He would better himself so that next time someone needed him, he wouldn’t disappoint them.

He tried not to dwell on his sister too much. He of course missed her bitterly but lamenting her death wouldn’t bring her back. Richard went to college, determined to become a police officer so he could help protect the public. He was originally more withdraw after the murder and it proved difficult for him to make friends. He instead focused his time on his studies.

After graduating he did manage to become a police officer. He did his best to be as useful to the department and his neighborhood as possible. He only regretted he couldn’t do much against the monsters and mages that seemed to be terrorizing the world. When monsters were involved the best he could typically do was evacuate people. Guns didn’t prove very effective.

One day when he was evacuating citizens from an incident area he saw a person in a suit struggling against a tide of monsters he at the time knew nothing about. As the hero appeared to be in trouble, after citizens were successfully evacuated, he ran back to the scene and started shooting. As expected his guns did little more than temporarily distract the monsters. The hero did manage to slay them all but was mortally wounded. Impressed with Richard’s bravery and determination to help protect, he gave him his henshin device and Richard became the new Kamen Rider TheBee.
