Brazil. And worse yet, Brazil during Carnivale. Marcus didn't mind it himself, since he enjoyed the music, but he didn't want Kozma exposed to the sights of Carnival. He made every effort to keep the two of them away from Rio, as they searched for the first Lost Stone.

Kozma could have dropped dead from the heat at that very moment. She wasn't used to such a harsh climate in the opposite extreme. Now if they were looking for a Lost Stone in Alaska or even Antartica, she'd have no problem.
She wiped the sweat from her brow. Maybe she should take off this heavy coat...
"Marcus," she said to her brother, "How are you so sure the Stone is here in Brazil?"

Marcus sighed. "Archenolon's Battery reacted when we got here. Otherwise, we would've left by now. I'm no happier than you are to be here, but we have to find it." He pulled out Archenolon's Battery, holding it out and using it like a compass to see what direction he needed to go.

Kozma finally threw off her coat and puffed up her cheeks.
"We could just fly there on Rhamphoredge, you know? Then we wouldn't have to kill ourselves traveling through an endless jungle full of who knows what.."

"If it were in a desert, maybe. But in a jungle, Rhamphoredge would end up missing it. We have to check by foot." Marcus sighed. He wasn't liking the heat any more than she was, though he was a bit more prepared for it, coming from Texas.

She leaned against a tree, only to discover a humongous snake was coiled around it and scream out.

In the blink of an eye, and a flash of silver, Marcus had drawn a knife, thrusting it through the snake's head and slaying it in one stroke. "Answer your question, Kozma?"

Kozma brushed it off and tried to hide the fear from her face, "N-now you're just showing off."
She marched forward, "Are you coming? Don't slow us down now!"
