It was another sleepless night for Asuka. As much as she wished that she could take a break, she felt like she was obligated to keep an eye out for Horrors every chance she got. Even if it meant a fourth late night in a row...
Asuka walked down the street with her hair tied back, her swords underneath her jacket, waiting for any signs of a Horror on her glasses. Maybe nothing would happen. She perked up for a moment. Maybe she could just get a night's rest, or she could go grab a bottle of sake and relax. Nothing had happened for two days in a row, so she debated with herself whether or not she should call it an early night.

Kairi sat on a bench, sighing. Katsu was off doing something with Gensetzu, hunting some Horror with Aru. She was alone. She pulled out her whip, popping the tip off to check on the status of the tiny blade inside.

Asuka hadn't found anything, so she decided to pack it in. She walked down the street, yanking the scrunchie out of her hair. She saw a girl sitting on a park bench in the distance. The girl looked familiar, but she really didn't care. She just needed to get off her feet.

Kairi heard someone approaching, and quickly replaced the tip of her whip, looking to see who it was.

"Kairi?" Asuka asked, walking over to the girl on the bench. She was thankful that her swords were tightly packed under her jacket, so they couldn't be seen. "What're you doing?"

Kairi jumped a little. "H-hi, Asuka-san... Just... Just checking on my whip." Kairi barely managed to stutter out.

"I see" Asuka said, not noticing the weird way she was talking. She was focusing on trying to come up with her own alibi, but she was blanking. "I... needed to pick up something at the drug store."

Kairi scooted a little bit away from Asuka. She nodded in response to Asuka's excuse.

Unbeknownst to the two girls, a strange green snake slithered through the park behind them. "The weather's nice tonight" Asuka said, enjoying the night.
