Overview:
Jayce comes off as a bit of a hardass, but he’s just looking out for everyone else, especially his sister and the younger members of their group. He’s one of the oldest Beyonds in the Ghost camp, and views himself in a position to guide other, younger members.
Jayce lacks any sort of real life. He takes the name ‘Ghosts’ seriously. He feels that he’s a ghost, he’s not alive anymore; he has no need to go and try to have a life. He’s also in the camp that believes they should lie low, and avoid detection of the organization, rather than potentially alert them by being out in the public, by trying to keep having a life.
Jayce is quick to anger, and is one who will gladly throw the first punch. He believes you need to strike first, or forfeit your life. That’s one reason for his high teleportation ability, along with the Zero Shift (see below), because it gives him that edge to throw the first strike, to get the first move in. Despite being quick to anger, he has the ability to remain calm and keep a cool head under pressure.
He will not tolerate disobedience, or stupidity, especially if it causes the death of anyone, Ghost, Beyond, or human. As far as he sees it, this is a fight between the Ghosts and the organization, and nobody else’s. He will not have blood on his hands, or on the hands of the group. That even means refusal to kill the enemy, unless they’ve been mutated into something beyond human, at which point he views it as a mercy kill.
If you betray the group, he will turn on you in an instant. If you make a mistake that others have made, or that wasn’t your fault, he will defend you until the end; however he will warn you not to repeat it. He will gradually lose his faith in people if they do keep making the same mistakes, but otherwise will always try to defend them.
He’s trained hard in combat, preferring physical combat to use of weapons, although striking weapons (such as swords or poles) are fine, he’s just not a fan of guns, because he likes to teleport and fight (even if it does drain him), and shooting is too hard with that.
His unique ability is called the ‘Zero Shift’, an ability similar to teleportation, but it removes him from this plane of the universe for a few brief moments, allowing him to be untouchable. He can use it to cover short distances like a teleport (without the flashy appearance of the normal teleport) or can remain in one place.

History
Jayce’s parents allowed scientists to test them years ago, and as such they were implanted with mutated DNA strands. Upon Jayce’s birth, it came to be seen that the DNA injections had affected him, not his parents, but this wasn’t apparent until he was around six, by which point his parents had had a second child, Ariadne.
Around the age of six he began to shows signs of telepathy, and also was able to teleport. He’d be in one room, his parents would go to another, and he’d be there before them. They moved soon after, and took their children and attempted to go off the grid, knowing that this had to be a result of the DNA injections that, at the time, were said to be standard.
The family lived as off the grid as they could, moving, lying low. Jayce continued to develop his powers, and began to teach Ari when she began to show signs of it as well. Their parents let this happen, because they didn’t know what else to do about it.
The organization eventually caught up with them, and attempted to take the children. Ari and Jayce teleported, but their parents were killed. Jayce, being only eleven years old, took care of his sister, and they lived through thievery and other means. The use of telepathy helped eliminate the need for education, because they learned through mind reading.
Eventually they met with others who were like them, and began to live with them. The group grew, and became the Ghosts, working to oppose the organization. Jayce became a central figure due to his affinity for teleportation. He helped with the fighting, and leading raids and attacks, and in one such attack stole technology that would allow them to Morph.
As the organization began to grow more desperate, and actually losing, they mutated Beyonds that were on their side, and began to mutate others as well, who were in their employ. The Ghosts were being killed on sight, and the power of the Morphers helped to even things out again.
They lie in a stalemate for now.
