Carter's head snapped back, and he brought it back forward, blood oozing from the corner of his mouth. "If I'm bad, you're worse. If you think killing me will solve anything."

He grabbed the man's collar again, "I'd love to make you suffer, but I don't have it in me. I can either do that, or kill you, I can't do both, but I want to do one of them..." He looked over the ledge, and then back at the man, "I don't care what happens to me. I don't care if I rot in jail, as long as you can't hurt her."

He said nothing for a few moments, and then he punched the man in the face again, with his other hand, before pushing him over the side.

There was a crunch as Carter hit the concrete floor. "Or I could clean up after you. That works too." Noland said. "Oh, I left her clothing with her." He walked away to go clean up the dead body.
