Takatora stumbled back, swinging his shield up and unleashing a Getsuga from close range.

James blocked the blast, holding it in place as it pushed him backwards into a tree. He swung his blade aside, sending the blast to his immediate right and destroying the trees next to him. The device on his belt lit up, displaying that he was only meters from the buried transmitter. Not that James cared at the moment of course, just kind of growling under his breath. A smarter part of his midn started coming through, letting him take a step back towards the clearing.

Kureshima's actions only further distracted James from the danger he was going to be in very soon.
BLOOD ORANGE SQUASH!
With James focusing on the white rider instead of him, Takaiwa took the chance to slice his belt's knife down to initiate his special attack on the Dragonfruit rider. He leapt up in the air and came down, foot-first at his enemy with a powerful surge of speed and power.

The sound of the other driver snapped James out of his berserker rage, and his anti-rider training took over again. He pivoted the T-Rex head on his belt and lashed out his foot upward in a kick before his belt had time to say anything.
DRAGON SQUASH
He had just enough time to raise his flame covered foot in a roundhouse kick, leaving him in a stalemate with the other rider's attack. He gritted his teeth through the wounds he'd achieved in his berserker state, knowing that he had to keep going until he could retrieve the capsule.[/font]

Takaiwa was far from done, despite his kick having been intercepted by the Dragonfruit Rider's. Trying something else, he used the momentum caused by their Squash attacks to lift himself airborne. As he twisted around midair, he detached his naginata, throwing his Daidaimaru at him while using his Musou Saber at the same time to increase his chances of landing a proper hit on the enemy rider.

James only managed to block one of the swords, but the Daidaimmaru slashed him on the shoulder as it fell. He decided to make somewhat of a retreat, backing into the clearing with his Lance at the ready. All he needed was enough time to grab the capsule and get his bike out and he'd be in the clear.

This post continues from where "War and Peace" left off.
It didn't take long before Dark Kabuto, in Rider Form, heard sounds in the forest- gunfire and clashing weapons. He'd decided it easier to hop up into the trees for the moment, using the branches as cover as he jumped between them and approached the area from above.
There were three of them this time... and as luck would have it, one of them was the red one. Marcus gritted his teeth under his helmet, keeping quiet for the time being as he waited. It seemed like a two-on-one battle, and the red samurai had a friend with him in white. He gripped at the handle of his Kunai Gun a bit... if he challenged them directly, he knew the first thing out of their mouths would be "get out of my forest," and he didn't need that.
The next thing he wondered at after his experience wandering through the city was... could these guys be related to Yggdrasill at all? There wasn't much mention of them on the television as such but given the splendor of the city he'd been dropped off in, and their big freakin' building in the middle of town, what was to say that they didn't also have the money to work on a couple side projects? It was a safer bet than trying to take them all on at once; chances are that the guy they were currently attacking had been meddling around- or at least the other two would have thought such, considering that he'd been given similar treatment when he got there by accident.
Opportunity was knocking. If he wanted to know more, why not do the enemy a favor? The solo guy was backing out now- it meant a perfect chance to do something to get what he was after. Leaping down from the branch, he flipped his Kunai Gun in his hand to grab the barrel, and used the fall to put some extra force behind an axe chop at the retreating man's shoulder.

The last person Takaiwa expected to show up would be the insect-allied man he met earlier and when the red armored rider spotted a rider bearing the resemblance of an insect (combined with the exact same critter on his belt), it didn't take long for the former to put two and two together. His reaction was the expected one - surprisal.
"What?!" Takaiwa shouted in anger. "You again?!"

You REALLY could have asked.
James screamed as he got hit by the insect man's ax on the shoulder, dropping his sword. "What the fuck?!" James shouted, getting pissed. This new guy had just pissed him off. Was he some kind of Yggdrasil guy? He didn't look it, and he didn't have a Lockseed. Did he have some kind of beef with one of the others? Then why attack HIM instead of the other two?!
James fired the Musou Saber, hoping that he could get to the X in the center of the clearing and get out. Right on cue, a swarm of Invess showed up from the trees.

Dark Kabuto tucked and rolled out of the way of the retreating man's fire to keep out of harm's way... at the least the guy's fighting capacity was diminished, so he'd be easy pickings if the other two went after him. Looking over toward the red samurai, he straightened up, tilting his head in recognition.
"You guys really need to learn to close the door behind you if you're gonna go visiting the secret clubhouse, you know... you'll let anyone in here at this rate."
He kept his axe down for the moment, doing his best not to anger the other two any more than he had to. He'd already done enough to slow the other guy down, and that was as much "good faith" as he was willing to show them at the moment.
"I wanna know about Yggdrasill and what they've got to do with this forest... and considering how easy it was to get back in here, I think you guys could use some more muscle keeping people out. Tell me what I wanna know, and I'd be glad to do that job."
It was right about that time that there was a crowd of those stone creatures he'd seen before jumping down from the trees, and his head snapped over to glare at them before rolling in disgust.
"Figures, as soon as I popped the armor they must have heard it..."
Flipping his weapon back around to grip the gun properly, he fired off a few potshots at the incoming hostiles as he backed away to the side opposite that which the other man was retreating toward. He glanced over at the other two once more.
"You make the choice- deal with your little friend there, or deal with me- but either way we can do it after getting rid of whatever these things are."

James stayed out of the Invess' way as he moved to the X, grabbing an etrenching tool out of his bag. Wincing as he broke ground with the shovel, he started digging up the grass.

This insect man knew too much. He had to be silenced for the sake of Yggdrasil's experiments and publicity, and without permission, switched targets and went after him instead of the Dragonfruit Rider. "You should've stayed out of this fight when you had the chance. Now...you die!"

Dark Kabuto took a few more potshots at the stone creatures before a couple of them got in close enough for melee. He barely had time to dodge a claw swipe from one to be able to pull his Kunai free of the Kunai Gun's grip, only to get clawed across his back for the trouble. He growled... he'd seen some crazy stuff before but this was starting to get downright weird. Wasting little time, he reeled around to slash the second one across its chest with the Kunai before putting the axe blade on his gun grip backward into the first creature's leg with a shout. The second one reeled backward after the slash, and the first one got mad enough to try and claw downward at him- only to find the kunai blade being jabbed backward and up into its midsection.
Marcus straightened up, sidekicking his first attacker into a tree before turning around to face the incoming red samurai.
"How very typical. I give you a freebie and you get mad 'cause I stepped on your lawn again... does it ever occur to you that there are -bigger- fish you could be frying, pal?!"
The second one recovered first, coming back toward Dark Kabuto with its claws forward. The insect Rider was quick to see it coming though, and whirled outward from the incoming monster's direction of travel before kicking it in the middle of its back, to send it toward the red samurai.

James kept digging until he found a gray lockbox. He snatched this up, stabbing both his E Tool and his lance into the ground so that he could look into the box. He popped it open, only to be confused by its contents. There were a four or five Helbaur, a sealed plastic bag full of parts for something he couldn't identify, various screwdrivers and tools, an instruction manual to build... something, some kind of sparkly rainbow colored tree sap in three jars, and some kind of faucet. Maybe it was to get the sap? James had no idea.
"I-what?" James said, picking up and examining the bits and pieces inside. He pawed through it, trying to make sense of everything in the box. "This is it?" Why would Tyr bury this? He picked up the manual, only to see 'Cretaceous Driver Energy Conversion - Idiot Proof Manual' written on it. "Idiot proof manual? Its like a hundred pag- Energy conversion?"

Harper should've kept his mouth shut if he knew Takaiwa was an expert regarding something like "energy conversion". Almost immediately, he halted his assault on the insect rider and focused on the Dragonfruit instead. He asked. "Conversion?"
Thinking in his head, he wondered. 'How does this ignorant fool know about the Energy Lockseeds?'
