Mentor had been brought some new books to read. His custodian had been grateful enough to actually open them for him this time. The books were several tomes on spells and incantations. One of them was his own. His first Grimoire. A smile trickled over Mentor's face as he wondered how many strings had to be pulled to find a copy that hadn't been burned.
He had set up something of a workspace, all the books opened on one table, and he stood before them, drawing symbols in the air with his finger.

"Someone seems to be hard at work," said Minister of Magic Basete Le Fay, as she perched ontop of a nearby bookshelf, "How long must you toil away at these old dusty books, Madman of Stonecircle? What do you hope to accomplish?"

She let out something that sounded almost like a chuckle, "It's possible for the Madman to become even more mad? I would like to see that."
