Overview:
Drake is very much an elitist, someone who will strive to reach the top, no matter what. The harder the climb, the better. He wants to be the best, and he can’t be with easy obstacles. No, the harder the better. It makes him a better man, a superior man. It lets him hold his head higher than other people can hold theirs, and in that there is a level of satisfaction that Drake finds.

His goals in life are primarily to surpass others, and be the best he can. He will intentionally take on difficult challenges just to try to beat them. If he fails, he works himself ragged to try to overcome it, and has issues with moving on. He usually leaves too much focus back on the failed task, and has difficulties focusing on what’s right before his eyes.

He’s honest and loyal, and will do all he can to put aside his obsession to try to help you through whatever you need. Of course, it helps if there’s incentive or difficulty in it. If it’s difficult, he’ll want to beat it. If there’s incentive, well…that’s obvious. He’s a normal human being, he likes incentive, he likes gaining things.

In his free time he likes to take up new challenges and tasks. He’s taken up and learned painting in a few weeks (and has only improved with time), along with piano and violin. He’s only quit a few things (good luck finding out what, because he refuses to acknowledge them), but for the most part will either become rather good, or just good enough to say he did it.

He’s charming, sophisticated, and comes from a good background. He will always be there for you, for the weak and downtrodden, and will always be there to help you if asked. He’s not a mind reader, he doesn’t always step into things. He will sometimes, when it’s obvious, but he needs direction, he needs to be told or asked to do things.

He tries to be a good man, but he’s done things he’s come to regret, albeit unintentionally. He’s left a string of broken hearts, as he’s somewhat of a womanizer in some regards. He just doesn’t realize the damage he’s done until it’s too late, and that’s one thing he never learns. He’ll gladly approach and hit on you and try to get somewhere, but in the end he’s not that good with women, obviously, if he’s not learning anything. It’s not that he’s inconsiderate or not trying, it’s just that he has issues with learning from this.

He has a slight sense of humor, but doesn’t let it grow too much or get in the way. He can throw out a few jokes, and enjoys comedy and jokes, but by no means would he be a “funny” person. He’s rather even tempered and calm, looking to the practicality of everything. He’s a realist, but prefers to look to the beauty in life, rather than the hardships and pain. He’s aware it exists, and sees it, but he just turns his eyes slightly aside to the beauty the world is capable of.

Drake was born in a household with a somewhat neglectful father who was an author. His father often drank and would be abusive sometimes to Drake. Drake had a younger brother named Steven, but Steven didn’t make it past three, partially because of their father.

As Drake grew to fifteen, his father died of liver failure. They had some money that their father hadn’t drunken away, so they had some support. His mother remarried right away, but he didn’t like his new step-father that much, so it didn’t affect him too much.

Soon after he encountered the SCRTC, and Master Shafu. He needed guidance in his life, and Shafu provided that guidance with Geki Juken. He took it up and practiced diligently, having nothing better to do with his time or his life right now.

He practiced for years, developing his Geki control and his technique. He began to get rather good, and started to look for other things to do. He was so wrapped up in having something to fall back on, on having things to learn, but once he hit KaGeki, that all but vanished. He started to take stupid challenges just to prove he could do them.

It always felt odd to him, becoming a Ranger, becoming a warrior for justice (and to him, beauty and technique), but he accepted it. It was something to do, something to push him away from what his father left behind. He was going to be his own man, his own path in life. It excited him, as much as it scared him to be fighting for the lives of others.

He was with numerous girls during his training and after, and broke their hearts. He has yet to learn what he’s doing in the aftermath of being with women, but he keeps moving between them when possible, when someone catches his eye. It’s a part of him now, and to him it’s a way of relaxing in the end, to take the weight of this burden at least partially away.
