Relationships:Overview: When you meet Andrew, you see that he’s a polite, nice guy but underneath of that is... a genuinely nice guy. He a lot of times acts like you’re typical red blooded American. He adores hockey and baseball, dabbles in DIY house repair, and is a Catholic who goes to confessional every Tuesday to confess about his job. That last fact is why people get surprised when they learn he’s gay. Andrew came to peace with his sexuality years ago. He used to get easily angered when people argued that he was a sinner or an abomination because of his sexuality, but he mellowed out about it with age. Nowadays he just rolls his eyes and moves on. His husband’s death is actually what drives him to do this crappy job, because he knows that Yggdrasil knows something. That said, it is advisable that you never piss him off. If you beat your wife/husband/whatever, hurt a child in any way, or abuse your power in a way that hurts others and prepare to meet the beast. History Andrew lived a boring, uneventful life for several years. He was raised by a pair of devout Catholic family, the son of a cop and a lawyer. Andrew came out of the closet at age fourteen and his father promptly kicked him out of the house. His sister took him in shortly after, moving from his home in Pasadena to Los Angeles. There, Andrew finished high school and eventually found his calling. One day in the courtyard he saw a couple seniors hassle and torment a scrawny freshman simply because they could. Andrew responded by knocking out their teeth one at a time, which got him suspended for a week. Still, he found knew appreciation for helping people and eventually enrolled in the police academy. In the intervening years he made his way into the FBI and found the love of his life, a man named Jonathan Adams. When Andrew went to DC for work Johnathan tagged along and the two got hitched in a courthouse the next day, with both picking the name Hodgins after the judge that married them. Andrew worked in homicide at the DC field office, while Andrew worked as a bank teller. One day on the scene of a crime, Andrew got the call that Jonathan had been shot in a bank robbery. Andrew rushed to the scene in time to see him once last time before he bled out. Andrew wondered incessantly for several weeks if Jonathan’s death was a coincidence or some planned thing. He got over it for a little while, at least until Jack Wotan contacted him and told him that he knew what happened to Jonathan, and would tell him for a price. And so, Andrew was contracted to Ygdrasil, a move that felt very faustian to him. While Yggdrasil managed to pull enough strings and greases the right hands to loan him out on their own, he still didn’t like that he’d be abusing his position, and was happy to find that his partner Christina Avrett agreed with him aobut it. On his first mission he stopped fighting an Invess to rescue a young couple from falling debris. Relationships:Overview: Christina is the smartest member of the Sigurd Squadron, which comes in handy a lot for the team. She’s also the calmest and the best with people, which comes with age and experience. Christina’s age also makes her a lot less suited to being a superhero/villain than the others, which means that she spends much less time in suit. She’s also a pacifist by nature, refusing to fight if she has to. She believes that the act goes against her oath to do no harm, and so avoids fighting other Riders at all costs. To the endless annoyance of her superiors, she has a habit of treating any Rider on either side of the conflict without question (though the clinic has a ‘no belts’ policy). Fighting Style: Christina has a very passive fighting style, only striking in self-defense initially. She prefers to dodge attacks and use the force against her targets. When she’s fighting Invess instead of a human she’ll fight quickly and efficiently, aiming to take out tendons and targeting pressure points. She has a similar offensive style with Riders, but she prefers to strike non-lethally. Instead she uses pressure points to debilitate Riders in conjunction with non-crippling wounds to various weakpoints.

History Christina has dedicated herself to helping people ever since she was a teenager. Her mother was diagnosed with leukemia when Christina was twelve, which she managed to fight long enough to see Christina graduate from school. Her mother died shortly after, and Christina vowed to never watch idly by as someone suffered again. Only a few months later she had started medical classes at Oxford University. She graduated at the top of her class, and spent several years working at a local hospital. While there she met a solider named Will and the two fell in love from their mutual desire to help people. They got married within the space of a season, with her often tagging along on his tours as a triage surgeon. On Will’s last trip before his retirement, Christina got the call she always dreaded. He had been killed by an IRA ambush, which she knew would happen eventually (but hoped wouldn’t). Christina trudged on through life for the next ten-fifteen years, eventually moving to Japan’s Zawame City to create a free clinic in Will’s name. Unfortunately, the bills for the free clinic started to pile up and she was neck deep in debt. And that’s where Yggdrasil and a superpowered cherry came into the picture. That isn’t to say that he’s incompetent; he’s actually pretty good when he can be properly motivated. If you insult his pride or try to do his job for him, he will gladly shut you down and do his job. In fact, the easiest way to get him to do something is to claim that he CAN’T do it. He is disrespectful to authority figures, almost never bothering to use any kind of honorifics or formalities when he speaks. He usually only listens to commands when he feels like it, and that rarely occurs – in fact his inability to follow orders is what caused other Sigurds to be brought in. Ironically, his disregard for the rules is what makes him a good reporter – he dodges Do Not Cross tape as often as rabbits dodge eagles. If he feels like getting a scoop, he will get it. History Ray Shelton grew up the youngest of seven brothers in a suburb of Atlanta. Between them and his professional parents, everything had to be competed for – time, money, affection, and especially any kind of advantage over his brothers. This only peaked in high school when he had to compete in tryouts for both basketball and football against his brothers, failing miserably both times. Jilted from the sports world, he soon found his calling – journalism. He stumbled into the school newspaper office by accident, only to be handed a camera and dragged by the editor and one of the writers to take pictures of the homecoming game. He found that he had a knack for it and soon ended up writing the school’s sports column, which was as successful as he’d get for the longest time in journalism. Ray moved from crappy job to crappy job, trying desperately to get a job at a larger paper like the New York Times before eventually being hired to act as a photographer for a local paper. As the art of the paper died out he figured (incorrectly) that he’d get a little more recognition as an anchor or local news reporter. He did not. Then came the offer from Yggdrasil – not only would he be working as one of the leading journalists at the Zawame Chronicle, but he was also offered to act as a member of the Sigurd Squadron. History Mia turned up in the emergency room of a Seattle hospital at age seven. She refused to tell anyone her name, or how she got so banged up, only saying that her parents were dead. When she was asked if she had any family, she said she had “no one”. Without a choice, she was taken to an orphanage to spend the next eleven years of her life. She didn’t have much to go to when she aged out of the foster system, which taught her most of what she needed to know for life but didn’t help her pay the bills. Even living in a dingy shoebox apartment in a terrible part of town, she had to steal to pay the rent and college was certainly out of the question.
