Overview: Despite his age, Noa acts like a rambunctious young man, believing that he may be old in body, but is still young in heart. He revels in the life of a bachelor, often playing video games and eating take-outs when he gets the opportunity. He acts quite scared whenever he does something he perceives as "old" behaviour, such as going to bed early. That said, he is dedicated to the life of an Oni, because he enjoys the work, and not because it's his only source of income.

Rather than an Oni, young Noa wanted to be a teacher. He grew up in a household with very overbearing parents, who wanted to make sure their son had the life they could never have. His father was a software designer, and his mother was secretly an Oni, who spied potential in her son.

Noa's school life was very much average. He tried his hardest to get good grades, and he sometimes achieved those good grades. This was also the source of one of the most saddening moments in his childhood: He brought home grades that he had obtained from his end-of-year exams. He had mostly A's, with a couple of B's. In what can only be described as an Asian Parent moment, he was asked why he didn't get straight A's. That, right there, was the worst moment in Noa's entire childhood, but at the same time, it was his first step into a larger world.

Mere months after that incident, his father died. He had been suffering from a heart condition since Noa was born, and it had eventually become too much to bear, and so, after a hastily-put-together funeral, Noa's mother began to train her son as one of her kind. From that moment on, Noa knew he wouldn't be able to become a teacher. After all, he had a duty to fight monsters. Still, he could live with that.
