A slow, peaceful day in Zawame City. Birds were chirping, cats were lounging about, and a smooth jazz tune could be heard escaping from the open door of a very classically-styled cafe, with an entryway of carved ebony wood, the open door resembling that of a medieval palace, matching ebony to the entryway and the walls, which were lined with leatherbound books and cozy red velvet-lined armchairs paired with mahogany tables, and a large obsidian countertop on a mahogany bar counter, with lush red velvet bar stools. Standing behind the bar was a single man, very obviously a foreigner, cleaning a set of black ceramic coffee mugs. At the end of the counter, a medium-large record player played, the smooth jazz spilling from the speakers, surprisingly crisp and clean, rather than rough and scratchy like many records.

Hazama sauntered in, looking about for a moment. "Good morning, Maxwell-san." Hazama said, inclining his head to the foreigner behind the counter. "I'll have my usual."

"Coming right up" Maxwell replied with a casual grin, in his still-shaky Japanese. He was always glad to see a regular, and Hazama was one of his more appreciated.

"Any sort of news from your front?" Hazama asked, taking a seat on one of the bar stools. "How's Cerise?"

"Still annoyingly promiscuous. She does no justice to our people, I tell you." Maxwell sighed, preparing Hazama's order very precisely.

"Well, she's doing what she wants. There is no greater pursuit." Hazama countered.

"It's less doing what she wants, and more who she wants." Maxwell sighed again, bringing Hazama his order. "Your usual."

"Thank you, and it's still what she wants to do with her life. She wants to make herself and others happy in this short life, so be it." Hazama replied, taking the cup and sipping, before setting it down to cool.

"If you say so. On the other hand, how has life been for you, Monsieur Hazama?" Maxwell returned to cleaning mugs, as the jazz continued to play.

Lloyd strode in, wearing the stupidly fake mustache and a turban wrapped around his head.
He took a good look around before going to the counter.
"Howdy," he said in his best American accent, "Do you serve coffee at this fine establishment?"

"Things are going quite well for me..." Hazama trailed off as Lloyd walked in. He took a moment to look him up and down, before returning to his coffee. He watched from the corner of his eye to see if it turned into something interesting.
