Overview: Akira Sonshi shifts between the go-lucky cool old guy and the hard ass drill instructor with a moment's notice. He's a bit of an old school guy so the idea of females Makai Knights is very off putting to him and despises all technology created past the 1970s. He has no heir of his own so he's desperate to find somebody worthy enough to pass on the title of ZEN. He's hard on the younger knights cause he knows how hard life as a Makai Knight is and wants to toughen them up so he'll often put them through a grueling training regiment known as "Sonshi's Hell Training." He rarely opens up to others as he has a certain fatalism that anyone involved with the Order will not have long to live and doesn't wish to make it harder on himself and them by making friends.

  Fighting Style: Fighting to Akira is like a dance, graceful with every step. He uses a lot of fancy movements to distract his enemy before cutting them down and is quite quick on his feet for his age.

Akira Sonshi was born to a Makai Knight and a Makai Priestess like most Knights. His dad was ZEN and his dad before him and so on. That means Akira was also destined to be ZEN, but Akira did not like this harsh destiny being thrust upon him. He wanted to live his own life so at age nine he ran away from home. He lived on the mean streets and was raised by a group of homeless people. They taught him things like how to take care of himself and one man he especially took to taught him the art of the con-man.

Akira spent the next two years as the man's partner in crime. They lived well, for a pair of homeless criminals. They were often chased by the police after discovering one of their scams, but they always managed to get away in the end. Akira enjoyed this carefree life. He never wanted to go back home. It wasn't until a Horror devoured his friend that he was reminded of the harsh reality of the world he lived in.

He returned home shorty after and continued his training. It was like he had never left. His parents made no mention of his absence. Akira became dedicated to his destiny, he would become a Makai Knight and save people from Horrors. He was sixteen when he lost his father. He was no killed by a Horror by his friend, but instead was betrayed by a fellow Knight. This should have devastated Akira, but instead he put even more effort into his training. He would become ZEN, no matter what.

He was nineteen when he finally pulled the Flaming Sword out of the alter and donned the armor of the Flame Sword Knight for the very first time. Two years later, his mother was the next to leave him behind in this world after succumbing to grief. Akira was all alone in the world, but that didn't matter. He was a Makai Knight and his duty was to eliminate Horrors. Nothing else mattered...
