If anything was good about the cold weather coming, it was that his leather was warm, and he could wear it as much as he wanted then. He felt wonderful, clad like this. He loved the black look, and it made him feel dashing and mysterious, and hopefully someone that would draw in a woman. He found that appearance was an easy way to to get a woman's attention, sometimes working better than honeyed words.
He sat on a small hill looking at the river below. Granted, this wasn't the best place to be, but he figured that there would be others passing by, and he'd find a woman that way. He gave it ten minutes before he left, though.

Morgana hurried to the river. She needed some body of water to practice this new spell she had read about. Normally she was terrified to practice magic in a public setting. If a non-mage were to discover her abilities...She might very well end up like her parents. But this spell was different. It was about manipulating the ripples in the water to show you images, show you things other people were doing in different places. And this mirror spell so to speak was only visible to the caster. Everyone else should just see a typical river surface.
Morgana approached the river and closed her eyes to help her concentrate. She muttered a few words under her breath and gazed at the water was fierce intensity, willing the ripples to move and show her more.

Rain was lying back on the hill, looking up at the sky for a bit before sitting up. Huh, well, that was new. She wasn't there before. Huh, American? English? Well, at least not Japanese. That was a new one for him. He got up and walked down towards the river itself.

Morgana grinned as the river's glassy surface altered to reveal the inside of Erika Danielle's home. So this was what her house actually looked like. It appeared as though she was shaking a man Morganna could only assume was her father. He was mumbling incoherently and his eyes were rolling about in a disturbing fashion. He was clearly drunk.

Rain walked up beside her, speaking in halfway-decent English, "It's strange to see a foreigner, I must admit."

Morgana sighed in frustration as her concentration was broken and the river reverted to its normal state. She looked up at the culprit responsible for disturbing her. She tried not to vent her frustration. She couldn't very well explain what he'd interrupted. To him it must have just looked like she was daydreaming or something.
This man's English sounded a bit off. She didn't actually know Japanese herself but she knew a way around that. She murmured a few words under her breath. Now everything she spoke would be perceived as Japanese. Likewise any Japanese that was spoken around her would be perceived by her as English.
"I have a name you know. It's Morgana not foreigner."

Oh good, she spoke Japanese. That would be a lot easier to handle. "Apologies then," he said, "Morgana, such an elegant, beautiful name. Now that it has graced me, it shall not leave. My name is Rain," he directed his arm outwards, "The same as the beauty that falls from the sky."

Morgana couldn't help but smile when he complimented her name. Yes, it was a blatant attempt at flattery but Morgana was quite fond of her name. It was practically the only remaining tie she had to her parents. And before the name had belonged to her it had belonged to an incredibly powerful sorceress. Morgana only hoped that one day she too could be as well versed in magic as the Lady of the Lake had been.
"You actually like rain?" she asked intrigued. Few people did. She supposed she favored it more than most what with her affinity to nature through her green magic.

"Well, it is my namesake," he told her, "If I said I disliked the rain, it would be like saying I dislike myself as well." He smiled a little, of course that didn't make complete sense, but it made enough sense to him.

"Actually it wouldn't have to mean that at all," she contradicted him. "We have no say in our names. It is something our parents chose for us. You can hate the name that classifies you but still love the person the name describes."

He wanted to sigh, but he didn't want her to see that. He fought back the urge and just gave a shrug, "I happen to love my name," he said. There, would that do to clear that one up?

"I'm not saying you shouldn't like your name. It's great that you do. Personally, I think Rain is a fine name. I'm just pointing out that it would be possible to dislike your name but like yourself," she explained.
She chuckled. "Although I don't think I have to worry about self loathing with you. You seem...fairly confident to say the least."

"Confidence is how men should live their lives," he told her, "It allows us to do...many things," he offered his hand out to her, "Like this. Join me for a meal," he put on as best a smile as he could, "Allow me to win your heart."

Morgana rolled her eyes. "My, you are bold," she acknowledged. He'd just met her and he was already asking her out for food. And he wanted to win her heart? He knew nothing about her. He was probably the sort to hit on any female that moved.
"What about women?" she asked coyly. "Isn't confidence equally important to them?" She reluctantly looked back to the lake before accepting his hand. She had really wanted to practice that spell; but, she wouldn't get anything accomplished while Rain was here. And this could be a good opportunity to test the limits of her current spell. She had never used it for extended periods of time. She was curious to see how long it would last.

"Oh, it is," he said, smiling as she gave him her hand, "However, I often find that confidence - in the manner I speak of it as - is more important for a man. I rarely see a woman make the first move," he explained. Well, there were those who did, but he hadn't really met any.
