A charming enigma? Yes, Rain certainly wasn't lacking for confidence. She couldn't judge him harshly for not thinking about work, though. Even when she wasn't practicing spells she was often thinking about them or their history or the theory behind him or what spells she wanted to study next. There was just so much magic to tap into and not nearly enough years to do it.
He was thinking how gorgeous she looked? Yes, he was bold. Morgana was the confident sort herself so she didn't flinch or look away when he said it. But she didn't take his words too seriously. She wondered just how many other girls he had said that too. Besides, although Morgana did really like brushing her hair and wearing her old fashioned style dresses and pretty cloaks, beauty wasn't particularly important to her. The mind was the most important aspect. The mind and its capabilities.
She chuckled. "I think you're even more bold than I gave you credit for. Perhaps you're fearless even."

Well, he had to hold those to some degree when working for HUNTER. But he couldn't voice that, nor did he want to even say that his work (keeping it vague) needed those qualities. He didn't want to give much away about that, for the sake of the organization, and for his own sake.
"I try to be." There, that was a good middle ground.

"You know, I think you're very much like a river's surface. You reflect others' images. You say little about yourself, instead focusing on others. You agree or compliment them in a fashion you believe they'd find pleasing. You expose little of your own form. Bold and perhaps fearless in many ways but maybe afraid to voice what's actually on your mind."

He sat there silently for only a few moments. He'd have taken longer to let her words sink in, but he didn't want to spend too much time thinking about it. He wanted to keep speaking.
"You hold truth in your words," he told her, "There is part of me like that." Yes, he liked to act like that with women, mostly to gain their trust and then have them. He didn't feel bad about it at all.

"Is that lonely?" she asked curiously. Although there were many things Morgana couldn't talk about because of her work and the fate of her parents, she never-the-less spoke her mind about what she could when she spent time with others which admittedly wasn't that often. She was willful and bold herself. She didn't particularly worry about offending others and she didn't feel it was her responsibility to set them ease.
She didn't try to get others to like her. Whether they appeared to like her or not they'd likely try to use her at some point. Perhaps it would be a mutually beneficial relationship but Morgana didn't trust anyone. She could enjoy people's company and like their research and hope they could cooperate but trust them...No, no one was so deserving of such a thing. Trust someone and you'd likely be betrayed.

"No," he said simply.
It wasn't. He always had people around in some form, so even if it wasn't a woman he mirrored back for affectionate purposes, he had others. Of course, he always had Ghost within him. But in the end, acting this way for the sake of gaining women wasn't lonely by any means.

"Interesting," Morgana commented, mauling it over. "I would have thought it would be difficult to keep so much of yourself locked inside. But I suppose different strokes. I certainly would find such a thing tiring."

"Sometimes it's the easier way," he said.

"Do you ever lose sight of yourself that way? Do you get so wrapped up in appeasing others that for a moment you forget yourself what you actually think?" His way of living was baffling to Morgana. It was hard to imagine constantly complimenting others and worrying about relaxing them. It seemed like a lot of work.

"No," he told her, "No matter what, I always remember who I am. It's never lost or overshadowed."

"Why don't you show your real self more often? Wouldn't you prefer that people accept your actual thoughts rather than reflections of their own?"

"My thoughts do come out. I mix them all together," he told her.

"You can give me the undiluted version. I promise I'm very difficult to offend."

This didn't seem to be going the way he wanted it to. Maybe he'd be best off bailing? He didn't figure he'd get anywhere.
Let's try this...
He looked straight at her, "I find beautiful women, do whatever I need to do, say whatever I need to say, and then get what I'm after in the end, more often than not. I have a feeling that's not going to work out here."

Morgana clapped her hands. "I'm impressed! You can be honest!" She sat back relaxed. "Was that so hard?" She didn't find anything wrong with his life style. Each person had to decide for themselves what they wanted and go after it.
