The Ars Phantoms

Every man of magical potential, commonly termed a "Gate", has his Underworld, a place in his mind where his greatest fears are made manifest. However, there is a Great Underworld, the collective unconscious of man, a place where all the despair men purge is stored. Around a thousand or so years ago, this immeasurable darkness gave birth to 72 Phantoms, the first of the Phantom race. Around 300 or so years ago, their leader, Baal, managed to break through to the surface, bringing his people to the surface and giving birth to the Phantom as we know it.
The magical community stopped them, and the White Wizards banded together, sealing Baal and his 4 lieutenants away, along with as many of the other Ars Phantoms as they could get their hands on. But now Valefor, the sixth, has found a way to unseal Baal. And there will be hell to pay when he does...
