"No, he hasn't," Kiriha said. He hadn't seen it as such.

"Sayuri, you worry to much!" Hiroshi insisted. "I just want to ensure the comfort of our guest. Are you hungry...I never did ask what you'd like to be called. How would you prefer I address you?" she asked Kiriha.

"Kiriha is fine," he said. "I'm not hungry, tea is fine."

Sayuri stood up and bowed to Kiriha. "Thank you again for your assistance. I'm most grateful." With that she took a seat and began to sip her tea. "I do hope the tea is to your liking. If not I can prepare another brand."
Hiroshi was quietly drinking his tea, observing the two of them, wondering if it would best if he excuse himself and let them converse alone. Although with Sayuri being the way she was she might not make any progress on her own. He would very much like to see his daughter show interest in someone. He was hoping that person would be Kiriha. He was polite, a doctor, and a warrior. But Kiriha might not move along the situation either. He was perhaps hopeless too. Hiroshi decided to stay for the moment.

He took a sip and shook his head, "I have no problems with it," he told her, "Thank you for the tea."

"Of course. I would be a shameful host if I didn't prepare tea for an honored visitor." Sayuri wondered what she should say to him. She knew less about him than most of the guests she invited over. She had no idea what he liked or what his ambitions were. She imaged her father had asked him some and she wasn't sure if he'd appreciate twenty questions.
"Kiriha works at the hospital Mariko is staying at," her father interjected.
"Oh! You're a doctor! That's wonderful!" she said sincerely. Even if he was an arrogant sort he had to be kind to fight monsters and attend to the sick. "Have you seen Mariko?" she asked, wondering if he'd even remember one little girl amongst all his patients.

"I haven't," he said, "She's not on my rounds. I imagine she's being handled by my coworkers or actual doctors. I am but a med student yet," he told her.

She nodded in understanding. "I work at a local Kindergarten but I'm not experienced enough to be a real teacher." She didn't know if she ever would be. She had more important things to worry about like Gedoushu.
"This is why you don't want to die?" she asked him. "Because of your work as a doctor?" Did he value himself as a doctor before a warrior? Such a strange way of thinking. She couldn't quite grasp it.
Hiroshi mentally sighed. Sayuri made it sound like she did want to die. Yes, she had an obsession with noble deaths but want to die...Surely she didn't think that way.

He nodded, "I must continue the work I've begun. I want to keep saving lives however I can, and dying in battle would stop that."

"Being a doctor is more important than being a warrior?" she asked.

"They're equally as important," he told her.

"Equally important?" she asked, confused. "Impossible. One matter must always take precedence. You cannot hope to equally distribute your time and effort. You're fooling yourself if you think you can."
Hiroshi wondered if he should say anything but it could difficult to stop Sayuri when she was like this. He best wait and see how Kiriha responded.

"Or so you think," he said, "Saving lives is saving lives, so it balances out very well."

"Saving through healing and saving through fighting are two very different things. And both types of work are time consuming. One must play second fiddle. Based on your attitude I would assume it's your warrior life."
"How can a man commit acts of martial valour if he values his life?"

"I've been given the power to fight AFTER I chose my path as a doctor. I make it work because I have to," he told her.
