"I'm his half-sister," she said, "I just like playing around like that." She left it at that, not really knowing if she should apologize.

"Not his girlfriend then?" Sayuri asked, comprehension dawning. Here she had been worried that she was accidentally ruining Kiriha's relationship; and, he had just left her there to think that.
She tried to calm herself but she was a bit angry at her ally. He knew she wasn't destroying a relationship! The bonds of family were thicker than that. And he'd just left her here thinking she was upsetting everyone.
She strode back to the break room and started banging on the door. "Kiriha, you're opening this door and coming out right now! I promise I'm patient and will give you one monster of a headache if you don't come outside!"

Marilen walked after her, shaking her head, "I wouldn't do that," she said, "Give him his time. If you want to do this, do it after work." She changed subjects, "Although as far as I know, he doesn't do anything with the sword. Maybe he picked it up and I'm not aware, but I never knew it," she said.

Sayuri sighed. It was a hospital and this probably wasn't the best idea at the moment but she would wait! "I don't care how long it takes! I'm waiting and talking to him after work!" she insisted, obviously still upset.
"And don't worry, Marilen. He's really not good with the sword."

Marilen smiled, "Well, glad to hear that," she said, "At least it lines up with what I already figured."

He was good enough when he had the suit; but, she supposed he relied more on his speed and strength even there.
"I still can't believe he left me alone, thinking I'd ruined his relationship!" Sayuri seethed. "And here I've tried really hard to be nice and polite and...I am going to give that jerk a piece of my mind!"

"You should actually blame me," she said, "He doesn't like to get wrapped up in things when I do that," she told Sayuri, "So I'm probably to blame more. Besides, I started that one."

Sayuri knew she was being biased and that her spirit was not what it should be; but, she didn't care at the moment. She was mad.
"You might have started it but he abandoned me! He was my ally and..." Yeah she really needed to calm down. Not everyone viewed allies with the same level dedication as her. In fact, few probably did.
"But you know what..No! I've been trying to be nice but he has an over inflated ego! He thinks he's so special and so great! And so perfect! And he's a human being with as many faults as anyone else! And he needs to be taught a lesson in humility and....."
She took a deep breath and tried to calm down. Why was she getting so rattled anyway?

"Out of curiosity, your ally?" she asked, "Can you explain that one to me?"

Oh right. Marilen didn't know about the whole savior thing.
"My ally in looking after little kids! I help them learn their ABCs and stuff and he helps take care of them when they're sick. Together we make sure to the best of our abilities that little kids are happy, healthy, and well educated!" she said cheerfully. Okay that sounded ridiculous. But even though she was mad at Kiriha she wasn't so mad that she wanted to blow his cover.

It worked for Marilen. She shrugged, "Ok. Now, about those other things you said...yeah, I don't know how you're going to do those."

"You mean make him realize that he's a human being and not 'God's gift to the world'?" she asked. She was pretty sure he had phrased it just that way. "Have you given up on trying, Marilen?" she asked her. Someone definitely needed to set Kiriha straight in that department.

"I just think he's working through things," she said, lying about it, "It might help him to have someone to help him go through those things with." She was just throwing random things out, and by no means did she really believe it. No, he was just that way, and the only way someone could probably affect him was to be close to him.

"A real man does not think of victory or defeat. He plunges recklessly towards an irrational death. By doing this, you will awaken from your dreams," Sayuri said with fervor. She had never quoted that line before, preferring to rely on patience.
"I've been going about this all wrong! I need to take a more aggressive stance if I want Kiriha to change. He has plenty of confidence in himself. Doesn't need anymore of that. And if I keep simply being kind and polite he'll keep on convincing himself he's the greatest thing since the katana. I need to more bold! Yes, that's the only way I can win this battle!"

"Be kind and polite to him?" she asked, shrugging, "Good luck with that one."
