He chuckled. "Next time someone tells you, be sure to mention I said it first. Copyright Richard Drago."

"I don't think that part needs saying."

"But it's a nice name." He was rather fond of it anyway.

"Still not a copyright."

He smiled. "But you can say things without them being true." He did like the ring of it. Copyright Richard Drago.

"Not sure why I'd say this one," she said.

"Because it sounds neat," he said playfully.

"Well, you're certainly an honest one," he said pleased. He doubted he needed to worry about Miss Clarke sugarcoating anything to make him feel better.

She nodded, "I like to think I am."

"So if you're honest let me try this. Why did you invite me here?" He was more than a little curious. Did she really want to show someone her sketches? Had she been impressed with his hat sketch? Did she think he was such a walking fashion disaster that he needed saving? He didn't really get why she would have asked him back.

"To help you with your clothes, and to just...talk," she said, deciding on that. "You're kind of like me, at least with the drawing."

He didn't miss the hesitation before she said talk. Likely, that was the real reason he was there. He wondered what she wanted to talk about. He figured it was best not to force her. She'd get around to it naturally if she wanted.
"I could show you some more of my hat sketches," he said pleasantly. "I didn't bring any of the actual hats but I can show them to you later," he offered.

"Sure," she said, picking up her book, "I'd like to see."

He handed her a thick leather bound book filled with pages upon pages of hats. Hats of every size, shape, and color imaginable. The sketches were quite detailed.
