A stronger telekinetic burst held the elevator and forced the doors open. One of the enemy Beyonds held a gun and prepared to fire on them.
On instinct Jayce grabbed her wrist and tried to teleport, but of course it didn't work in here. But another Beyond jumped in before the first one fired, grabbing at them, attempting to get them with his bare hands as the other one shot.
Acting on instinct from the sound, both Jayce and the other Beyond did it at the same time, and then something odd happened. It worked, and they were on the street outside.

Miri unleashed a blast of light directly into the hostile Beyond's eyes.

He grabbed at them, but Jayce teleported, still holding Miri's wrist. Unfortunately the Beyond came with them. As soon as he felt them in teleport, he used his own teleport, knocking them completely off track. He lost his grip and landed somewhere else, but Jayce held Miri's wrist yet.
When they came out of it, Jayce landed hard on the ground, landing in sand.

"Stop teleporting for a moment, s'il vous plaît!" Miri yelled, getting to her feet quickly.

He picked himself up and looked. Water? Where the hell did they end up? He turned back. Jungle?
"I think we're on an island or something," he groaned. He grabbed her shoulder and tried to teleport. Nothing. He turned and loosed a telekinetic bolt, but nothing.
"Something's blocking me," he said.

He lifted his Morpher. "It's not working. Two teleports going off shouldn't throw us off this far. I should know, I've done it before. Something here is very wrong."

Something nagged at him. What was canceling their powers? There had to be something on this island, some reason they were teleported here.
