"No idea," he said, "For all I know, we could be in Canada on the border of the ocean somewhere where there's no town, and just have to walk a little ways to find one. Granted, it's too warm for Canada, but you get the idea."

Miri shrugged. She started playing with the hem of her top. The shirt was starting to get a little uncomfortable, after a day of toplessness.

He kept walking ahead of her, not paying her any attention. He wasn't even sure how to begin fighting back if they encountered the other Beyond, because he was certain the other man would have his powers, somehow.

He didn't say anything, he just looked ahead and kept going. He started to sweat from his leather jacket, though.

He stopped and pulled his jacket off, tossing it into the brush, and then tore off his longsleeved black shirt, tossing that in as well, leaving him shirtless but cooler.
