Good evening everyone, my name is John-1107. I hope we can get along.

Remember the old news that Saban plans to make a new Power Rangers theatrical movie? Well, I suggest that a new Power Rangers theatrical movie be a crossover with its original Japanese counterpart Super Sentai. The reasons why I believe such a crossover should happen is because: 1) Power Rangers needs a theatrical revival and 2) a crossover would not only benefit both Power Rangers and Super Sentai but also strengthen Japanese-American cultural ties.

The crossover movie must be made before 2020.

Please repost this thread across the internet. Saban (the creator of Power Rangers) and Toei (the creator of Super Sentai) must consider the crossover idea.

The movie must be a crossover between a Power Rangers series and its Super Sentai counterpart.

Below is the synopsis and cast for my version of Power Rangers vs. Super Sentai: The Movie - a crossover between Power Rangers Megaforce/Super Megaforce, Tensou Sentai Goseiger, and Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger:

Synopsis

The Tensou Sentai Goseiger and the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger are transported to the Power Rangers universe, where they encounter the Power Rangers Megaforce. Unfortunately, a cloned Basco ta Jolokia, who has allied himself with The Armada, becomes the main threat to both the Power Rangers and Super Sentai universes.
The Mega Rangers, the Goseigers, and the Gokaigers form an alliance to battle Basco and The Armada in an attempt to save the Power Rangers and Super Sentai universes.

If this version of the crossover movie cannot happen, then a movie crossover between another Power Rangers series and its Super Sentai counterpart can happen.

This is a nice idea. It is impossible to make a film out of this. Leaving aside the logistics of doing a crossover film between two franchises that are visually similar enough to be confusing to casual fans, (how will you keep people from getting confused between the Megaforce Rangers and the Goseigers/Gokaigers in a fight scene?) this film is dependent on getting cast members from shows that have long since finished filming back to reprise their roles, something which is nearly impossible to accomplish under normal circumstances. Heck, Megaforce apparently wasn't able to get the full Samurai team back, and their contracts had that explicitly in it!

I'll also note that the target audience for Super Sentai are too young to have any knowledge of Power Rangers, and the same holds true for the target audience of Power Rangers. Heck, Saban has a vested interest in the kids not easily figuring out the show is adapted from something else. This film would only be for the most hardcore fans. Like us, sure, but there aren't enough of us to justify the millions of dollars that would have to be spent in making a film with such a crazy mandate. What language would the script be in? Do we have all the lines dubbed into the native language? How is filming possible with a cast that can't understand each other?

This is a cool idea, but the logistics make it impossible. Oh well.

A Power Rangers vs. Super Sentai movie would be nice to see. However, one of the teams would need to be dubbed in either Japanese or English, so both audiences would be covered.

Identical suits are not the problem, just super-mode one of the teams like White Ranger clone super-powered himself in Dino Thunder and you've got the identity problem solved. Then, take one villain character from one series and one from another and form a PR-Sentai villain team. This would help with the suit/character doubling problem.

Production-wise, this movie would be a problem, because both production teams would need to work on it. Saban's for the Power Rangers part and Toei's for the Super Sentai part. Not sure how that would work, budget-wise. Language wouldn't be a problem - hiring a translator shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Realistically speaking - this movie will not happen. Ever.

At least three of the main Goseiger's actors have stopped acting, so you'll need to change that.

Almost everybody in this thread has come to the conclusion that Power Rangers vs. Super Sentai: The Movie is impossible to make. While I concur that my version of the crossover movie would not happen at all, I disagree with the notion that a crossover movie idea will never be realized. I take my Power Rangers-Super Sentai movie crossover proposal very seriously.

If Saban and Toei will not make a movie crossover between a Power Rangers series and its Super Sentai counterpart, then why not we make an original Power Rangers-Super Sentai movie ourselves? A movie crossover between a Power Rangers series and its Super Sentai counterpart may be impossible to make, but making an original Power Rangers-Super Sentai movie is not impossible!

I will not stop until a Power Rangers-Super Sentai movie is made. However, if this movie fails at the box office, then I'll just call it quits.

Since your new to the fandom I guess you won't have heard this before but you know how little Saban cares about pleasing the older fans? So little that the "anniversary season" they threw together can barely hold a candle to the magnitude of the fanservice Gokaiger delivered.

And you want this same person to go out of their way to do something this ambitious for no reason other than making people happy?

Well it's not like PR is a ploy to sell toys since it's actually created by people who treat it as a work of art...oh wait.

And did you REALLY (I mean seriously emphasis that as hard as you can) REALLY suggest "make it ourselves?"

Overall, if this is a trolling attempt (no really) then it's a mighty darn good one but if not then I'm sorry but you have a LOT to learn about how the world works. I can't even imagine a kid proposing something like this...

I'm not a kid, I'm an older fan like you are. And this is not a trolling attempt.

I'm not new to the fandom, and I already knew that Saban cares only for children and not older fans. However, I seriously propose a Power Rangers-Super Sentai movie because Power Rangers is in need of a theatrical revival. Since people have said that Saban and Toei will never ever make a Power Rangers-Super Sentai movie, I did suggest that we make this movie ourselves. However, we should make this movie as a Hollywood movie, not as a fan film. I thought everyone can make a Hollywood movie these days.

If I read correctly, Power Rangers will stop airing after 2016. However, unlike many other older fans and Sentai purists, I refuse to let Power Rangers fade away into the past as a consequence of Saban's negative actions. Instead, we should save the Power Rangers franchise by making this Power Rangers-Super Sentai movie.

However, if no one wants to make this movie happen, then I will make this movie happen someday! I believe in doing the impossible, but what about you? If you don't believe in doing the impossible, then you just gave up before you try.

A Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie in the vein of Transformers would not happen! I believe that a Power Rangers/Super Sentai movie would do well if done right. However, I don't believe that a Power Rangers reboot movie should happen.

Thank you for providing me with the correct information. However, my main concern is the decline of Power Rangers in the eyes of older fans like myself. I believe we can stop this decline by making a movie that would appeal to both older fans and children.

I'm not talking about making a fan film, I'm talking about making a Hollywood movie!

I still don't think that people would have the guts to make an MMPR movie in the vein of Transformers. I think a new MMPR movie would be made in the vein of Star Trek 2009 and Man of Steel.

A PR-Sentai crossover would do absolutely horrible, because:
Sentai and PR are on totally different levels, Sentai is a respected show produced by a respected company whereas PR is made by a company scared of these so called "unions" and Saban is probably the Scrooge McDuck of companies.

There is virtually no audience, Japanese kids don't know PR and the other way around, result being that neither Sentai or PR audiences would be interested.

And why are you saying PR "needs" theathrical revival? I see no reason why it would, and even less why they should do that with a movie doomed from the start.
My advice to you is to forget about this ever happening, it has zero chance of working.

It seems everybody holds contempt for the Power Rangers-Super Sentai crossover movie idea, so I am going to request deletion of this thread. Somebody suggested i post my idea on this board, and it turned out to be a bad idea after all. I'll just go somewhere else then.
