Erika didn't press the issue. If Sierra-chan didn't want to talk about it that was fine. Family's were complicated. She certainly didn't want to delve into the dynamics of her murdered mother and how that impacted everyone's life.
"Theoretically we have plenty of time to figure out our futures." She grinned wryly. "And we have plenty to do in the mean time."

"Hmm," she murmured. "I wonder if that's tougher or easier." Looking after Jun-kun could be really difficult but the two were exceptionally close. She wouldn't give up her little brother for anything. And even if she didn't want to talk about her problems and worry him he did have this way of comforting her just by being there. And sometimes when she was up late studying or balancing bills or whatever he'd smile sweetly and bring her a cup of coffee. He was a good kid. He deserved a nice future. She wanted to give him that.

Erika made a gagging face. "That's awful!" "I have to step up to the plate because Dad's a wreck but technically no one's forcing me to do anything. It's not a matter of family name or pride or whatever. I'm just trying to help my little brother and bring Dad back." She wondered if she could bring him back. She'd been trying for a long time. Sometimes she saw glimpses of his old self; but, he'd never been the way he was before.
