Erika was still emotionally distressed despite her appearance. She doubted she could tell Sierre-chan much but she dug into her bag. She'd at least take a beginning gamble. She pulled out the accursed crystal ball and held it out to Sierre.
"I don't suppose this means anything to you."

"Looks like a crystal ball," she said, but that's all the help she could give. She looked at it in confusion, what did this have to do with things?

Erika sighed. Of course it wouldn't mean anything to her. What was she thinking? "You'd just think I'm nuts," she said cheerfully, smile fixed firmly back in place.

"Um...what makes you say that?" she asked. She had a crystal ball, so? That didn't scream 'nuts' to Sierra.

She laughed and played with her voice to make it deeper. "I can see the future!" She playfully looked back to Sierre. "Now if I said that you'd think I was crazy." Especially if she threw words like blue mage and Magiranger into the mix.

"I don't know," she said, "I've seen weirder things in my life," she told her.

She giggled. "And what if I told you I couldn't just see into the future? What if I told you I was a 'super hero'?" She extracted a phone. "What if I told you this was a magic phone and by dialing the right numbers and saying the right words I could transform." Her voice wasn't serious. She could still pull this off as joking.

"Well, I know that's a thing," she told her, "I know those people exist, so...I could believe it," she said. She should know, she was one of those people. Not the exact one Erika spoke of, but close enough.

"And what if I told you that being a 'super hero' wasn't so heroic. What if meant killing sentient creatures. Yes, people might call them monsters from Hades or whatever. And yes they caused destruction. But what if I said I had to be one of the people that killed them. And sometimes people too." Her voice was still jovial.
"And what if I told you seeing the future wasn't so great? What if I told you I could only see terrible, horrible things. Catastrophes. Murder. Death. Destruction. Betrayal. Despair. But I have to see them so I can try to help. And what if I told you I got a crystal ball not too long ago. Before I'd have to make do with what I naturally saw. Now I'm obligated to probe more often and more deeply. It's draining and horrifying and..." Her voice was too tense.
"And you'd think I was nuts," she said in a bubbly tone.

She didn't say anything for a few moments. "Whether they're sentient or not, they make these choices. They're the enemy because they make themselves the enemy. And...maybe you see catastrophe so you can stop it, so you can save more lives." She figured the girl was telling the truth, not making something up.

Yes, they made decisions. Decisions just like her. The decision that in the heat of battle there was no other alternative but to kill.
"I try! I really try! But...If If I can't find the person or people or locations or I can't convince them to do something or whatever...It's my fault! I failed them! And I can't look into the crystal ball all the time! I'd go nuts! I look into it a lot! Especially if I get a vision without it but...And this girl...I have to save her...if I don't...But...I have no idea who she is or even where she is..and..."
It was too much. She started crying again. Really? Twice in one day? She really needed sleep or something. And what was she doing dumping all of this on a stranger? No, it was probably because she was a stranger she could do this. She'd leave and it would be just a weird encounter for the girl. She hopefully wouldn't be too troubled by the meeting. Why should she be? She barely knew Erika.

She put a hand on Erika's shoulder, "You'll learn what you're doing in time," she said, "You'll learn how to control it, and be able to save people. Just give it time, and people who can help you. I'm not one of them...but you can find someone, I'm sure."

She looked at Sierra incredulously. "You believe me? Why?"

"Why wouldn't I believe you?" she asked.

"Because almost no one believes in magic and super heroes," she responded. "Have you seen some? Are you one?" Unless she'd seen one or been one, Erika couldn't imagine someone would accept her story so easily.
