"Well, it's kind of obvious they're around," Sierra said, not answering if she was one, "I mean, I've turned on the news and seen reports of battles and monsters and heroes," she said.

"That's normally not enough for people to believe it. People are skeptical. They have to see it themselves or be one," she said firmly. She did notice that Sierre-chan had avoided her question about if she was one. "Are you one?" she repeated. She really hoped she was. Then maybe she could talk to her and she would understand. She needed that, someone who would get it.

She opened her bag since she was directly asked. She made sure nobody was around, and then the Black Kabuto Zecter flew out. The mechanical beetle flew around her and she gave a nod, "I am. This...thing chose me."

Erika hugged Sierra-chan tightly. She was one! She would understand! "That's wonderful!" she breathed, finally letting her go. "Hello there," she said sweetly to the beetle.

The machine didn't stop or respond. It just flew back into the bag.
"It's not very social," she told Erika, "It really just comes out when I need to transform."

"But you have a partner," she said with longing. "I'm a little jealous!" she admitted. Her phone wasn't sentient.

"Well, it's sentient, but it's not like we communicate," she said.

Erika smiled. "Well at least I can talk to you!" She knew she could trust her. And she felt better, finally admitting what was bothering her.
She sighed. "My father...He's had another relapse, back to drinking. He spent the money I set aside for Jun-kun's S.A.T. prep course," she admitted. She smiled again. "But don't worry. I can take care of it. I always do." Yes, she always did. She took care of everything with respect to the house. It wasn't fair but it was necessary; and, she would do it. She would always do it.

She put a hand on Erika's shoulder, "I'm sorry to hear that...I...I can help you," she said. She might have said 'if you want', but she chose not to. She just wanted to help, and not exactly give her the option to say no, only if she's outright say no would that option be there.

"Really, it's okay!" Erika insisted. "It's my fault, really. I should have known better than to give him all the payments at once. But he was doing well and I just thought...Well it was foolish. But I...I have some part time jobs. I have a scholarship for swimming so the money's just for them. So it should be okay." It would be tight; but, she'd make it work.
"I don't want to be a burden," she added. She'd have to scrape up the sums quickly, though. Her brother needed the class, especially if they hoped to get him a scholarship. And they NEEDED the scholarship. With her father's stability...It was hard enough to keep things together as it was.

"How much do you need?" It was a simple question, she wasn't going to just ignore this; she didn't want to be herself right now, the heiress, she wanted to be a normal girl, but she'd use her money here to help this girl, and her family. She did philanthropic work anyway, so this worked, just like she helped the poor.

"Sierra-chan! I don't want to swindle you! Or scam you or...No! No! You should keep it! I can make ends meet! I promise!" She really didn't want to cause others trouble. And Sierra-chan was so nice. She hoped they could be friends. Friends didn't ask friends for large sums of money!

"How much?" she asked again calmly, trying to ignore it. She'd feel bad if she started to take the words to heart, but she wanted to help.

"Sierra-chan, really it's okay! I don't want to cause trouble! I promised Jun-kun I'd sort it out and I will!"

"I want to help you," Sierra told her, "I know that you don't want me to, but I want to help. Please, let me help you."
